[Locked] Artist and Circle Information Topics
0
Hay FAKKUers, this here's a quick readme for any visitors to the Artist/Circle Information Board. Here you'll find out just what's in here, how you add info, and all sorts of useful information.
Frequently Asked Questions: UPDATED July 9, 2007
1. Why haven't you added info about [Artist/Circle] yet, you jerk?! They're the best!
Keep in mind that this board is NOT private. All guests can view it and all registered forum members can post in it. It's here so that collectors like you and me can find and distribute information on their favorite artists and doujinshi circles!
So if you haven't seen information on your favorite artists added, ADD IT! It's simple, easy, and many will thank and love you for it!
2. But I don't know any circles!
That's why this board is here. And even if you have but one release that you know the artist of, feel free to post a topic and request the information! The ideal topic format doesn't require that you know everything about an artist, just what you can see with your eyes, think about with your mind, type with your fingers, and post with your INTERWEBS.
3. I can't add the info, my collection isn't complete!
It doesn't need to be. All you need to do is open the discussion. See an artist you want to add, and know their pen name or circle title? Open a topic and add some info, start up a release list, and you're golden! The idea is that members of the community who recognize it will add what they know to the pool of knowledge, benefiting all.
4. Why did you get such a stupid idea in the first place?
It seems to be a talent of mine. Also, I noticed that FAKKU categorizes all its manga and doujinshi by series. That's not going to bode well for organization as time goes on. Plus, there are many reasons to add that information. Here's why:
[list]
[*]MOAR new anime and topics for perverted parody come out EVERY DAY. It's hard enough keeping up with the normal stuff, much less the fap material. FAKKU will end up adding more and more categories, until the drop-down lists EXPLODE.
[*]Not every title is translated equally. Let's face it. Not all of us speak effectively this moon-language most of our porn is in. If we did, we'd be getting it off of Share or Winny and not care about FAKKU. But we do upload on occasion, and not every way we title or stuff is the same. One might be titled "the one where Sakaki rapes that guy", but its actual title might be something completely different that you just didn't understand. But almost everyone can identify a famous artist. It might not matter WHAT something is called, so long as everyone can identify who it's from.
[*]Sometimes you can find new gems in the rough. Artists change styles on occasion, and it can be quite interesting to notice that your favorite artist is releasing work that's quite different from when you first discovered him. Case in point: Nakayohi Mogudan and the evolution of his Rei.
[*]It's good for collectors. Collectors list what they have, and the community can help to fill the gap. Everyone wins!

4. What should a new info entry look like?
You can post as much new info as you have in any legible format and layout you see fit, so long as it effectively organizes the info you're distributing. Being the first contributer, my entries have looked something like this:
As a tip for organizing the release lists, group like releases by separating with line breaks. Try grouping series releases together (like say, Digital Lover's "D.L. Action" set) so they're easier to read.
You might want to include some pictures or samples, the better to describe an artist's work.
5. Your info topic on [Artist/Circle] sucks big time! How do I right this crime against humanity with new correct info or list updates?!
Just add a reply! Anyone bored enough to be looking for detailed information about his favorite creators is likely to read the thread. If you can, keep an update to a similar format as the original post, and try not to add old information or info that's already in the original post.
Which brings me to my last point: DISCUSSION IS FREE!
6. So what now?
JOIN THE FIGHT! Add info on your favorite artists and circles! FAKKU's staff will be using that info to add to currently hosted work, so when you contribute, you make the site better in the process!
EDIT: Edited to be simpler and to reduce workload all around. Sorry if it looks like I'm copping out of regular updates, Jacob, but I'll try to keep the board clean.

4. What should a new info entry look like?
You can post as much new info as you have in any legible format and layout you see fit, so long as it effectively organizes the info you're distributing. Being the first contributer, my entries have looked something like this:
Artist/Circle: STUDIO BLAHBLAH
Artist Pen Name: BLAHBLAH TANAKA
Website: www.blahblahstudios.co.jp
Description:
Well known for being used as an example in forum board information topics, Studio Blahblah is characterized by not having any actual work released. That said, his lines are quite clean.
Content Spectrum:
Blahblah Tanaka has shown a surprising propensity for not actually releasing any content. Interviews suggest that if he did, it would be about shitting dick-nipples. Perhaps it's best that he maintains his tendencies.
Release List (last updated whenever there was last a release):
Blahblah strikes 1-5 (Gundam Seed Destiny)
Blahblah smacks 1-3 (Detective Conan/Case Closed)

FAKKU Old Guard
Though I'm clueless on the subject, this is a fantastic idea. If you're going to contribute, be sure to follow the posting format.

UNANGBANGKAY = WIN.
This is one of the best posts on the forum! and after reading all of this I have almost nothing to add. I honestly think you covered everything. Collecting all of an artists work is FUN! And FAKKU absolutely needs to accommodate for it.
As the database grows I will add the ability to search for manga by artist and even some sorting options. Not entirely sure how I am going to get all of it to fit on the manga page... but we'll come up with something. I hope everyone contributes to this project because it is going to be pretty awesome. :D :P

Hi, I know some artists name like the one for "Life is peachy", how can I edit just the artist name without doing all these stuff?

You bastard, you had to mention how Mogudan mammarily raped Rei... yes, I just made up both a word and a phrase/form of sexual assault. But yeah, that's a good example. the first Rei doujin was one of the first I ever really liked, but by the time I found out who he was, her tits were bigger than her Eva...
Also, knowing names kinda helped me figure out that Mogudan and Izurumi(I think?) weren't the same.
