First of all, using an EMP pulse implies that the source of the energy of the nanites must be electric (which it probably is). Second, how would you send a surge of information? The nanites would have to be connected, and you would have to actually be able to make contact with a nanite.

You know, blitzkrieg is definitely a very important strategy, and one that I very much approve of, but its quite a risky plan. Of course, due to today's technology, things are a lot better, but stretching supply lines and paying no attention to your flank can be quite dangerous. Then again, as Rommel and the Germans showed in World War II, you can definitely beat armies much larger and powerful than yours.
