Camping and robbery, what the hell? And what they took!
Who here went camping and then found out food was stolen by an animal?

So I wanted to post about my camping trip and this particular day, we were all laughing our asses off because the first night we slept, the next day our bags of chips were ripped opened and devoured. There were meat and all sorts of goodies animals could have taken but, a bag of chips?
So then we proceeded in venturing through the big woods when we came across a pack of foxes and we found they were all eating from a bag of chips, so we all stared at each other and we couldn't stop laughing our asses off because we never believed that animals has a liking to such humanly delights. We threw a pack of beef to them because we felt sorry and went our way, but to think chips was so popular under the kingdom of animals, reminded me of this one movie where a racoon was obsessed with chips.

I haven't had my food stolen, but I did have a angry pack of raccoons freaking the shit out of my mother around 2am back when I used to go tent camping.

Racoon is ok if you remove the fat and guts.I believe a hunter on television did that.

Your food wouldn't get stolen if you'd properly stow away the food. I only had a chipmunk get into a bag of peanuts one time, but half of those were thrown out for them anyways.

Lol for camping. Do you know how it feels to be thrown out in the middle of Kalimantan jungle only with a single pocket knife and a bag of salt?

Yeah, but it's common in the hills.

Yep, dehydration prevention as well as your only seasoning for food. By the way, you must procure all the food by yourself and the training finishes when you get to a town. Dayak village does not count as town.

dafuqs a racoon?!?!?!.... none of that shit on these islands
sounds like a mongoose, except nobody gives you shit for em if you shoot em.
are they tasty if you dump your bag of salt on it and toss it in fire?

Oh Shit that sounds like a very hard challenge .... how long does the training usually last until you get to a town?

I get to a small town in East Kalimantan after I borrowed a map from someome in the Dayak village (the native tribe). From the dropoff point till I finally able to report, about four weeks I guess?
You still have potato chips and meat and whatever luxury you had. That time, I caught wild snake, wild boar (I dislocated my shoulder in my attempt to kill it), fishing in Musi river using handmade bamboo spear, and many other crazy thing. Also, procuring clean water is pure nightmare, as I had no container nor any tools to sterilize the water. I ended up using bamboo as substitute pot and made the water pouch from water buffaloo skin.

That sounds very difficult for me .... I don't think I could have managed all that with my current level of skills which is almost none. A month on your own, sounds like tough stuff, and I bet the feeling was even tougher.
