Do you give money to beggars?

Never said I throw them all in one category. But there sure are reasons to not give them money, like not wanting to support their self-destruction resulting from a possible drug addiction.

I remember when i was child I found $5 on the ground in chinatown, and as I went to go buy something (probably candy or a cheap toy) I saw a beggar in the park feeding the birds with the scraps he found in the trash...I gave my $5 bill to him, and I must admit the feeling I had when he smiled and said thanks was quite fulfilling.

I agreed with this, I sometimes do give money if I can't take their annoying begging anymore longer. Especially right after I came out from the market and am almost broke. I feel like punching that guy asking me for money, following me all the way to the car.....

If I had some change, I'll give it to them but... only like a quarter. I'm broke too. I need my money. Last time, I didn't have anything on me. A homeless guy came up to me and asked for some change. I said I didn't have any and I walked away. He started following me so I went into a store. He stayed outside looking through the window for about 5 minutes and left.

I don't give them any unless they seem agressive. I live in a smaller town and most of them are just well known for being drunk all the time and still beg. Fuckers are annoying, especially when they see someone in a suit (which I wear to work few times a month).

Although I once gave one beggar in Prague some cash willingly because he was just so damn hillarious, standing by the entrance to underground near a coffee automat and telling me "hey, man, got a few coins? I'm cold and need to buy some coffee, I actually tried to buy one, but this damn thing gave me a baguette."
I was like wtf and gave him all my change before my brain even processed what was going on.

I was in Prague once too. I've never seen so many homeless before... :\
