It's like every instrument ever put into one. It looks like a Bassoon strapped to a guitar neck. Avery key/button is fully customizable. You can put in sound loops, random sounds, beeps, chords and even song onto each button. It's the ultimate instrument. All of the sounds are stored on your computer. If I had $5,600 for the
Alpha, $2,600 for the Tau, or $560 for the Pico, I'd buy one in a heartbeat. It's only been around for about five months it seems.
Here they play the bond theme song:
Spoiler:
I wanna play this thing So Badly!

This instrument is the best invention i have seen in my life! The one thing that will last forever cause of how customizable it is! I'm so glad I got you into this! we need to save up and get a few and make an Eigenharp BAND!!

That is pretty incredible, although it is unfortunately made in Devon. :P
Can't see it ever being more than a gimmick though, really, much like the theremin or any number of new-age instruments. If they're lucky, there might be a high profile name or two using it to jazz up a set, but an entirely new instrument to learn and the synthetic sound will put people off. Who knows though, with Windows support coming soon and the power of the internet...
