Cool, im on Alderaan now. Im an Imperial is it the same for Republic?

are the expansions good? In terms of story I mean. Theres how many, uh, The newest one is knights of the fallen empire. Then I think I remember shadow of revan and rise of the hutt cartel. Are they as long as the original story?

The only difference with planets for the Empire and the Republic is that Taris and Balmorra are switched, otherwise they share all planets after the exclusive planets of the prologue (starting planet plus homeworld).

Expansions are quite a bit shorter, but I at least liked their stories as well. Opinions may vary, of course. Not much of class story after the original three chapters, though, so far there's only a small additional mission in Shadow of Revan for each class. Rise of the Hutt Cartel has separate storylines for Empire and Republic (and if possible, I would recommend doing Republic's first for story reasons), the later stories are shared between them as well, with only minor differences.

I have a habit whenever I play a mmo of playing every class at the same time and just switching back and forth. So Im playing with 8 different characters. All of them are past the prologue and so far I think I would say inquisitor is probably my favorite. Im on Taris with the Jedi knight and their story is pretty cool too. My least favorites are the smuggler and bounty hunter. I think a big reason for that is because you really don't feel unique and special in those. You are just some random smuggler or some random bounty hunter. Also, the sith warrior isn't very good so far, hope it gets better.

Inquisitor story is definitely my favorite, the one story that's really all about your character. I did quite like the Bounty Hunter myself, though, and it is always nice to tell some of the Imperial assholes you meet how little you care of their ideals. Smuggler is probably my least favorite, not because of being a random smuggler, but because the whole long chapter 1 seems to be more about Risha than you. Might be better when playing a somewhat darker character, though. The Smuggler prologue was great, though, very personal as well.

Have you completed all the stories?

I have 10 characters that have finished the original three chapters, at least one of each base class. Four of them all the way through the current 9 KotFE chapters as well. One more in the middle of Makeb now, but not much time to play due to work at the moment.   And then a bunch of others...

Dam, thats a lot. Whats your favorite class gameplay wise? And which discipline would you recommend for each, if you don't mind me asking

25 characters in total, although the 4 latest are missing from my signature rotation due to the new character select screen in 4.0 not quite allowing me to do them the same way I did the previous. Still have to think what to do about that now...

Hmm... Hard to say. Haven't really thought about this that much myself, I just try different things and try to enjoy them all. There should be better informed guides out there.

I couldn't get into the assassin/shadow. And doing a healing spec doesn't sound too fun

I have one Seer Sage and I was quite surprised how well I was doing with it. Some of the nice unique features it had, like healing from the barrier, have now changed and are available to others as well, though.

I do like Sage/Sorcerer better myself as well, but Assassin/Shadow aren't too bad either. Stealth is always a nice thing to have.

Imperial Zabrak, yes, Republic gets the lighter skin (the character creator has them as separate options). Of course, legacy unlocks help to get around that.

Sith are red as well, though, so shouldn't really be a problem. :D Or if you really want to, you can always waste some cartel coins on a species change.

I still don't understand anything about how the legacy system works. You get stuff from that or what? The legacy window in game is confusing

There are certain things and bonuses you can unlock for the whole legacy, some for characters only. For example, normally only certain species are available for each class, playing one to level 50 (or being lazy and buying it from the cartel market) unlocks the species for all classes.

Then there's legacy-wide reputation with certain factions later in the game, and achievements are for the whole legacy as well.

generally what I look at doing with games like this is im going to play the story, level up to max and then do anything and everything else. Helps add my own bit of endgame content. So ya, I don't do crafting or anything like that until after max level. For this game this includes figureing out legacy stuff
