Gosh, some people are just insane... I know one of my cousins is going to be attending Stanford and taught herself how to speak fluent Mandarin. So many talented people in the family... Hell, I live with my sister and she's going to Notre Dame for law school this fall! I need to step it up... gonna be left behind at the bottom of the talent tree at this rate!

I know that you can speak multiple languages as well, Spy. I can speak two myself. Well, three if you count the fact that I can speak two dialects.

I know I should go my own pace, but I sometimes feel it's too slow. There are two types of people in this world. Those born with natural talent, and those born with natural persistence. Those with natural talent tend to cruise by with little effort or get nowhere because they refuse to do shit. Those with natural persistence work hard to get what they want, but many often never reach their ultimate goal despite their tenacity.

I guess I'll restate what Zuko said. People can be boiled down to "being born lucky" or "being lucky to be born." Talent and persistence are meaningless to the flow of life. Sometimes life will just shit on you, and you just can't do anything about it.

Spy: Never compare yourself to another human being, you are who you are and the only thing that you should be worried about is your own success, your own ability. Perhaps there are people who are better than you at something, can appreciate and understand a concept quicker than you or at all but that hardly matters. What you need to do is set your eyes on your goal and walk towards it, if you run you might trip and fall. It doesn't matter how long it takes you to achieve your goal, what matters is you achieve it. Whether it takes you five, ten, or even 20 years to do what you want all that matters is that you do it. Don't worry about how quickly you get there, just focus on getting there. Plenty of people don't even get the chance to consider the opportunity their dream will become reality, but I can tell you are smart enough and have enough financial capability to make it real. So do it. Don't sit there and think you aren't moving quick enough, because it will become reality.

Hm...? That's very encouraging of you to say. I never thought you'd be one to motivate people like me. I hate to sound like a pretentious ass, but I was at the top of my class back in high school with the minimum effort. I got accepted into a few Universities, but my family thought it would be more cost efficient to go to a community college and transfer. All that did was shoot down by motivation. Been trying to rekindle it ever since. At this point, I just want to finish school and find my place in this world. I just need to get motivated to do so.

Well, I can only look. I can't talk to or anything being so useless.
