You generally have to know the users who started them.

You could find out who has them, and ask to be in, but you'd have a harder time doing that compared to getting invited by one of them (though, let's face it, this one needs you to have done something major around the boards and make yourself noteworthy).

The only reason I ever got Skype was to talk to friends and family when I'm overseas. However, I do use Tinychat from time to time because it's pretty neat.

I have skype, but the last time I used it was when I played Terraria online. And that was a long time ago. My skype icon is dusty.
