It's a regional thing. In the US we call it college while in a lot of the rest of the world it's call university or uni for short.

I was curious about this, myself. I assumed it was a regional lingo kind of thing.They don't use the word college because unis refer to the word universities or the sixth form of college.(correct me if I'm wrong)

In most countries the word college is for like city colleges or jr college level schooling. Uni is high level colleges.
