Genometrics Concert Hall ~Mrgrgr!!!~

When I went to sleep last night a few hours ago, I wasn’t expecting to be woken up by being thrown out of my bed and into the ceiling above me. Once I recovered from the shock and go up, I cursed to myself and wondered what the hell that ghost had done now. I looked out the window and saw that the front end of the ship was buried into the ground. Sure enough, we had crashed. After arriving to the control room, she explained that the whole ship suddenly lost all electrical power. Magical power was still up and running, but without the help of electrical power to regulate it, it was unsafe to use the engines so she powered them down and glided the ship to the ground as safely as she could. Once I checked to see that the power wasn’t gone because of something she had done, I decided to go out to inspect for any damage and to find out what caused this. And that’s where we find ourselves now.

"Tch. It looks like a large section of the front’s outer hull has taken damage. It shouldn't affect flight capabilities, but temperature regulators might have trouble functioning properly. That's only what I can see. Who knows what might have been damaged as a result of this." I say as I kick up some armor plates that have fallen off the ship. Luna looks pretty depressed.

"I'm sorry. I didn't know what else I could do so I turned off the engines and..."

"Don't worry about it. I'm not mad at you. You did a god job. I would have probably done the same thing in your situation. Tell me, do you know where we are?"

"Well, the last I remember is that we were about to enter a series of islands. If we stayed the path, I think this might be the biggest of them. The funny thing is, the islands didn't appear on any navigation maps. I didn't think of it much at the time, but only a few minutes later is when everything turned off."

"So we're probably on one of the islands. And you say that they didn't appear in the maps?" I ask as I take out my GPS.

"That's right. I wonder why? I thought the entirety of Mundus Magicus was already mapped. What's wrong?"

"Wrong? Nothing other than the fact that my GPS isn't functioning. Neither are my flashlights. I think we might be in an EMP field."

"And EMP field? What's that?"

"It's an area of land where electronics don't work. They were commonly used by the Joint Crescent Nations during their border wars against the Soviets. They used them to take down air transports and other aircraft. It worked so well that after a while the Soviets backed off."

"I...see? So what is an EMP field doing here?"

"I'm not quite sure, but if there is an EMP field here then there must also be an EMP generator. Having destroyed a few in my day, I know just how to find them."

"How?"

"A compass. You see, most EMP generators create massive amounts of magnetism. Anyone with a simple compass can find it since it will point at the nearest large magnetic field. This one is...deeper inside the island it seems."

"D-deeper? But it's so dark!"

"The sun will rise in another hour or so. Besides, if there is something that is important enough that needs to be protected with an EMP field here, then we have to check it out. You're coming with me in this mission."

"What! Me? B-but I"

"You'll be fine. Besides, I might need you to bypass security locks that might be here."

"Well, ok. But I'm not worried about me. I don't take physical damage. I'm worried about you. What if you get hurt? I can't help you since I can't touch you."

"Don't worry. I never like to get in over my head. If I see that something might be too dangerous, then we'll just bail out."

"Ok, if you promise we'll get out with no problems"

"We will."

"Well then, let's go." she giggled.
