I actually had a blast for my birthday, and it's so weird how it all happened too. I was at work since 9am and at a meeting until 11pm tonight. If I ignore the work aspect of it, I had a huge party.
We had balloons everywhere at work celebrating at work today, because it's the first day of my jobs calendar year. I got a bunch of Happy Birthday's from my coworkers and a huge hug from my manager.
After work there was an event for the computers department that I went along with because they promised I'd enjoy it. Turns out it was being held at a gamers zone place. Basically for about 2 hours a bunch of different companies like Microsoft, HP, Asus, etc were pitching on what we should be selling out on the floor. They had raffles, and we had pizza, wings, soda, and ice cream all for free.
My work managed to get the spokes people to mention my birthday - and it wasn't just my work there, about 100 people were there and they all sung happy birthday to me.
They gave away a laptop and an xbox, which neither did I win.
But afterwards they were pretty much like 'hey, by the way we all payed for you guys and you can play games here after we're done.' I didn't think much of it, I figured I'd just go home ;p
But the guys from work made me stay and play laser tag with them. I've never played before and they knew I'd suck but wanted me to play with them anyway, so even though I really did suck - ran into the walls a few times and thank god friendly fire didn't count against you, I had a lot of fun.
So yea. Even though I was at work all day today ;p had a pretty fucking good time.
