Also, a surefire counter to depression is nostalgia. Just be careful not to overdose--ironically side effects of nostalgia overdose include depression.

And yes dwelling to much on the past to much can be a bad thing. But a little bit is good for you.
If this doesn't work for you. Why not try some new things. A change of pace might be just what you need.
