Nope ... I do many things myself, but I am also smart to learn the experiences of others, you can say I am a half breed of do's and dont's.

It's just the fact that the OP wants to deploy is a bad experience and shouldn't be light overestimated.

joining the military in any branch is a great thing especially now.
A.This isn't WWII where your god if you make it through
B.You can say you did something with your life
C.It's a good experience you will have for the rest of your life. Americas enlisted is basically the destination of many delinquents and dropouts who can't make it into college, and the military straitens them out

Who told you that? You have to pass a physical and written test and the written is the one most people don't pass. The military look for those who are able to perform mentally and physically and focus more on those with intelligence.

Applicants also tend to be rejected if they are not fit for the military.

Ummm lets see i live right next to Norfolk, dads retired military, I know a few seals (ones higher up in DEVGRU). I am not saying that the military enlistment is purely drop outs, but many end up there and it does straighten them out.

I have family deep in the armed services, friends part of recruitment, and friends that are enlisted. The military looks for those that are able to perform mentally and physically because it does not only require physical skills since the military is advanced technologically. Unless there is a draft the military will not go after anyone since not everyone is fit for the armed services. The military recruitment will go after students that perform well academically and private school kids because they view them as men/women that can perform mentally and are intelligent.

cool story bro. Yes the test may have gotten harder recently, blah blah blah. Not all people who need to be straighten out are 2.0 GPA weaklings. but again you totally missed the point that the military is a good experience, so im not going to arguee this fact any more

I never missed the point about it being a good experience, but I wanted to point out your error in judgment or the common misconception of the military, which I have.

Where would you be deployed to?

Deploying simply for the thrill of it sounds like you are lightly overestimating the actual thing. It's not a child's playground where one simply says " I wanna go and play, there is nothing to do here", this is actually the real thing man. People there go for reasons like protecting one's country, earning a good amount of money, or just simply training very hard and becoming someone who can hold great responsibility, anyways it transforms a man in ways no other jobs can do.

My little brother wants to join the Marine and become someone else, someone different who is important, and also gain good experiences from the field ... so I can understand why you wanna deploy.

Check it out first and learn about it before deploying to the field ... if your desire is THAT strong then go for it man, just don't underestimate or overestimate the life in the army.

There is also an aptitude test that you take that tells you what branch you would be best for I believe.
