It has not been my intent to leave this thread unattended. Thanks so much for bumping this guys. ^^
I've just been so busy of late and it seems I will continue to be for awhile yet. I had a friend up here the last week and a half helping me sort some stuff out. With any luck, I will be moving come the 7th or so.
It's a small place, not really what I had in mind at all, but is much cheaper than other places I've seen so far, has some bonuses that come with rent, and will be a place I can call my own.. no problem room mates to speak of.
Some initial paperwork has been done, now I just have to finalize things and wait till the old tenant clears out. Again, it's far smaller than I had in mind, but alas, not much is available atm. I will consider this a stepping stone to bigger and better places in the future.
Anyway, I am tired, but did not wish to leave you guys empty handed. Have some music and enjoy the haven!
(and mouse, be careful of strange letters! lol)

Welcome Lime!
It is good to be able to officially greet you. I know you have been watching over the haven from the shadows of course, but it's nice to see your presence in here is now solid. I was actually just thinking about you as a matter of fact! What do you think of your title?

It's awesome! and yes, I've just been lurking, unable to post anything but here I am!~
My internet connection isn't that great though, there is a storm which may cause my computer to break again so I'm being cautious n_n
How are you?

Be careful! lol
I dunno how many people noticed your absence, that may be true, but I've missed you. Would not be good for your computer to die again.
As for how I am, it's kinda of mixed. I am tired due to all I have been through the last little while. Seems to be taking a toll. However, I am both nervous and happy at moving soon. The idea that I won't have to pick up after people as much is nice. But I haven't moved in a long time and though I like the choice, it's a place I don't know as well and wasn't my first pick. And I am glad to see you!!
Then too it's really awesome that I have friends that are willing to help me get all this in order, but some of them make me worry so! One of the friends that was most helpful to me just got arrested today. Not for anything serious, but it still rattled me.
I took him back to his house a few towns away and since I had time to kill, we were just hanging out when he revealed he had a warrant out on him. I should explain..
A couple months ago he was shopping with someone he thought was his friend and they stole something. Before they told my friend, they let him hold it saying they bought it. But when the cops caught up, this person set my friend up. He claimed my friend was an accomplice and got him in trouble too, even though my friend had no idea.
My friend had to appear in court and ultimately decided that because he had done nothing wrong, he shouldn't have to pay pentantence for it. He stubbornly refused to do what he was told.. after all, he was innocent and thought it would work itself out. Thus, he got a warrant on him and got thrown in jail for a week.
He came out swearing he wouldn't do that again. He hated jail! So this time, he would try to earn up some money, pay off the fine imposed on him etc. But with no job, he found it tough to do and basically got complacent.. until the judge wanted a progress report. Suddenly he freaked out. What could he tell the judge? He's had tons of time and had forgotten, but that wouldn't fly in court.
So he skipped it.. and I found out today when a cop pulled up to question us. *sighs*
He's innocent, but is messing up his life cuz he's too proud to report for something he didn't do, and thus is in trouble all of his own doing, even though he didn't actually do any harm.

Sounds like a tough one your friend went through. The government is pretty stupid, but this letting a friend to "hold on to it" is pretty common. Basically, in my opinion, the friends who actually stole were only looking out for themselves. People like those are the influence that this kinda stupid things happen.
Your friend should get some kinda positive coming along soon since he went through all that bullshit. It'[s life, it'll have its ups and down in whatever form and whenever it wants to.
By the way, welcome back to the forest. :D

I hope so. I think he deserves a break. I mean, in the end, he got hauled in for not doing what he knew he should. But I can't say I blame him. I mean, he didn't do anything. I do wish he'd get some perspective, complete things, and move on instead of trying to prove a point though. Clearly, it's not worth fighting the battle right now. He's just hurting himself doing it this way, and it's hard to watch.
We've known each other for years, and although we have major differences, he's always come through when I needed him most. Now I can't help him in return. Also I can't help but think the cops have something better to do. It's his fault he's getting cuffed for not following through, but is it really such a big deal? Our jails are full as it is and you want to pick up a guy who isn't troubling anyone? I would think that would be a pretty low priority.
It's not like I condone skipping court, and I certainly don't blame the cops for doing their jobs, I just don't see how this is supposed to help anyone.
Anyway, thanks for the welcome Guys. lol, I don't mean to talk about such a heavy subject in here. It's just on my mind today cuz it caught me by surprise. Perhaps I'll pull out some harp music and meditate a minute.

Spoiler:
Sorry for this really really reaaallly late reply. I had lost internet connection earlier and I only recovered now.
I didn't know you moved ;~; , and yes I'm glad to see you as well n_n
I feel sorry for your friend. Some people are really like that, that only proves we should really pick our friends carefully. How about his parents? Did they lend some money to your friend?

I haven't moved yet, but it's in the works and should happen. Wish me luck! lol
As for his folks, they have a very tight budget most of the time. They have someone they know that would have offered him work, but the guy works people harder than the pay is worth and likes to cut corners. So he's a real tough guy to work for. If it were me, I would have worked for the guy for as much as I was able during that time, but even I wouldn't be able to do it for long. He can really burn a person out.
Still my friend did have that option, as ugly as it may have been, and that's part of the reason I say he worries me. When all is said and done, it's his fault. While far from ideal, he could have had something to show but he slowed down his pace and forgot. So by the time they contacted him for an update he had nothing to show for it. He froze up and didn't go.
I think somewhere within him he still doesn't want to pay for something he didn't do, and feels trapped by what he's facing, so he puts it out of his mind to ease himself. But it's getting him in trouble and makes him feel worse. Thus, the end result is that he could have done something and didn't. Maybe he's just being irresponsible. I dunno.
Nonetheless, it's tough to watch someone who just helped you with a bunch of stuff get cuffed and hauled off in front of you. I feel like I owe him, yet I had to just stand there. I had been discussing with him a way to get him some money, in the hope he could put this behind him.. on the condition that next time he take care of it himself. It was made bitter by the fact he got hauled in before I could even get back to my place.
Things will work themselves out in whatever fashion they must I guess. I'm just really loyal to my friends, and as you can imagine learning about that and then not having a chance to help kinda shook me up a bit.
As for picking him, I really didn't. We just continued to bump into each other over the years until till we realized having each other around was gonna happen wither we liked it or not. We actually used to be enimes, but over the years we've formed a sort of truce. He often tended to be there for me when no one else was, and so feeling like I owed him for that, I did the same for him.
I suppose I could cut ties with him but doing so would seem unreasonable. He's been decent to me, doesn't have too many friends, and I know him better than most do. His behavior may not be the smartest, but he's helped me when it counted and is making a real effort to be a better person. How can I turn my back on that?

Oh, its seems like Maholix is back O.o
Urgh, moving is hell. I have a hatred for boxes now. I barely managed to get everything packed and moved to my new place, before I had to go on a stressful 8 hour journey to the airport on the other side of the country and then urgh. Too much misfortune on that journey. /end rant
But at least you found a place, and these days if you can save money, then a much smaller place is worth it. It really sucks though how money has to control our lives...
Hope everything turns out all right with your friend though, seems like a messy situation

Yes, I am indeed back for now. Moving is quite a process it's true, so I may vanish off and on for the next little while, but I should be more available than I have been now that all I am doing is getting certain lose ends tied up.
Once the move officially begins, I'll be busy again at the start of it, but everything should happen pretty quickly once the place I am moving to has been inspected and the previous tenant is out.

lol, that was a major part of my problem Gee. There are apartments particularly everywhere in this area, but I swear a good 80% of it is student based, meaning I would either be required to be in school during my stay or have a random room mate come along later. That's the trouble with living in a place that has a number of colleges. I swear most of the city is devoted to that. And I couldn't afford a house, so it had to be an apartment.
I don't own a car either, so it had to be within range of a bus route. All in all, my options which looked plentiful at first, were becoming more and more limited. It did teach me a lot about the area though, and in a years time, I know exactly where I'm going to try and move. So I'll just use this place as a start and store up any money I can.
And it's not all bad. I mean, if I end up having to change my plans and stay in the smallish place I am moving to soon, I know I can afford that at least, and net will come with my rent, so I'll still be able to see you guys. ^^
