Sorry for the sudden disappearance guys, was having some computer trouble.
My lappy as I'm sure I've mentioned before is dying real fast. I've been trying to find an affordable solution to this before it kills over totally, but I have very limited funds.
So recently, I got this budget desktop for like $100 USD, and while it's by no means a fancy nor up to date thing being as it's an old second hand computer, it's at least (supposedly) in better condition, considering that most the parts on my lappy are starting to fail.
Anyway, been spending a lot of time setting this desktop up, getting everything installed, etc.. had to power down for what I THOUGHT was gonna be like 20 mins to back up the data on my lappy's hard drive and get it moved over to the desktop. But as it turns out, my laptop's hard drive is so bad off that it doesn't like to share. It took close to three hours.
Then the desktop kept freezing.. virus scans came up clean. So I was swapping hardware in and out trying to nail down the cause, with both myself and the friend I had over completely puzzled/annoyed. After an extensive session of "what about this?" we finally found out that one of the programs I had been installing to the desktop hadn't updated properly.
This in turn had corrupted the .dll that belongs to the program, which was set to boot on start up, causing the computer to hang. We got it fixed, but at this point it was super late, so I had to head to bed. Hopefully the worse is behind me, and I'll not have any further problems.
*shakes head*
Computers sometimes...
Anyways, I'm happy to see you all posting here. ^^ Especially you Manga. It's been awhile after all. I dunno if you'll see this so many hours later, but welcome back to the haven. I'll get to work updating the weather. Was gonna post something for a storm up in the mountain peaks, but I guess that was decided for me.
lol, I guess weather is fickle. Oh well, more realism.
@Shane
I don't remember if I asked you this yet, so I'm gonna go ahead and ask now. Seeing as you've been posting pretty regularly, do you want your name added to the OP? If so, let me know a title you want, and I'll get to adding you.
@Mouse
It's prolly a different time for you over where you live, but morning mouse. ^^

Its a little late in the afternoon/early evening here. Im normally wide awake at this time (with bed time being past midnight), but work is tiring. Luckily its only a summer job and it ends next week so I can relax for a while.
anyways - computer problems suck. My laptop, though a trusted friend, is becoming very old and is kinda falling apart (screen is detachable from the body with only the wires connecting the two) and is getting increasingly moody about when I can turn it on. So im looking into a replacement laptop, but with my budget... Ill just save a bit and hope this laptop lasts another year or two...
*is still sleeping* (the above was me talking in my sleep - I do that a lot apparently...)

I hear you. If I hadn't found this desktop, I don't know what I would do, because I'm in the same boat budget wise. Normally I wouldn't even be able to spare the $100, but I pushed some things aside to do it, because the timing was right.
My lappy is a friend too.. I rescued it from someone who was mistreating it and thought it was broke. Was told if I could fix it, I could have it. And although that was years ago, my lappy has never forgotten my kindness.
It's hanging on for all it's worth.. but I know it's not gonna be alive much longer. Slowly, part by part, it's dying. Although it should be able to run more, I can barely run the browser lately.
It's getting to the point that I have to run regeneration programs every other month, and bypass bad sectors when installing anything, which is hard cuz more are appearing. My graphics card gets hot easy, the cpu doesn't perform like it should, and the CD drive.. well, it's gone. Meaning I needed to reinstall my OS on it, I'm out of luck.
Needless to say, as sad as I am about it, specially considering my budget, it's time to move on.
Oh btw, what work are you doing?

oh I work as a cleaner - I clean staircases - wiping walls, sweeping, mopping that kinda thing.
Its not that hard a job, just dull and physical. and I have to get up early every weekday, so that sucks too.
But hey money is money, and having money is nice. It really sucks how much it restricts you though... Going to get a part time job when my uni starts again, so I hopefully wont be living on baked beans for ages (I have done this and it wasnt nice)
but if im getting a replacement for this laptop, I want it to be a good one... so this one better last a long while more O.o
Anyway, enough talk of pointless things like money and work, how was your day?

lol, me too, but clearly that will have to wait.
Well, compared to yesterday's headache it's been almost fun. But we'll see how it turns out. I have to make a lot of important but stressful calls, and I'm not looking forward to it.
I mean, on the upside, once done I can breathe easy for a bit.. but these calls, well, they mean a lot more future work, and the outcome of them is uncertain, so it's a little nerve racking. Still I gotta do them.. no other way to work for a better future.
Either way though, I should assuming the desktop is finally fixed, be able to play some games I haven't been able to play in a long time, so I am looking forward to that.
