The good atelier games are the PS2 generation.

Also Spectacle fighter = God of War nd the like. Well, those which bet on uber-flashy moves like Devil May Cry or Bayonetta

I would reccomend any tales games (tales of xilia, graces etc) they did a HD remaster of final fantasy X and X-2 which is pretty good if you don't mind a bit of old style turn based rpg games(even for someone like me who has the original ps2 games still, i still find it fun replaying it all in HD remastered)

the atelier series can be a bit of fantasy and adventure, but the alchemic part of it makes for a lot of tedious work that requires a lot of patience to get through so might not be the best choice

if you don't mind grid based strategy RPG games I would reccomend the Agarest war series, the gameplay can get a bit tireing after a while, however you can set it to auto mode when your people are strong enough, and to make things better, you go through "generations" for example as the main hero you meet three heroines, you eventually choose one of the three to make your wife and depending on who you choose and their affection for you, it changes how your child will turn out, then you become the child as an adult find your heroines and choose another wife for him etc, its kinda cool imo

(some of these are older and you may have tried or heard of them idk, but if not then maybe you can try one of them out)

Started with Sonic, went through good games, bad games, Glorious ones, Trainwrecks, trainwrecks that were fun to ride. Godlike games and things I wondered why they even hit the market.
I could give you a definite top 50 of games if you give me some time.

I have tendencies myself. Thers stuff I love (Gust, for the most part, NIS) and stuff I loathe. Mostly Compile Hearts stuff. Fucking cancer. Same game only reskinned over and over.
