Netorare: A strange addiction

I have this really weird addiction to NTR and it's kinda buggin' me. The thing is that I absolutely loathe the genre. I know that hentai in all its forms boils down to nothing but animated pornography, so it shouldn't really be analyzed as such, but that's pretty much why I'm addicted to it. Whenever I see a less than satisfying ending, sometimes rage-inducing, sometimes depressing, I can't help but ask myself, "What could've been done differently to avoid this situation?" Again, I know that I'm over-analyzing it, but haven't you ever seen a situation that made you just wanna jump in and give your input or just adjust things so that the outcome will be different? That's pretty much how it is with me and NTR.
Most of the time, it usually has something to do with the protagonist and his girl (being that the girl is the one being stolen away from the protagonist) being unrealistically stupid. It's usually involving a lack of communication or some form of blackmail that can be averted or something dumb like that. (Yes, I am aware of Japan's emphasis on pride and public appearance.) Those NTR stories I merely just shake my head at and move on. But there's something else that gets to me in those situations; the personalities of the characters within the story. Some NTR stories involve a basic misunderstanding of some situation which leads to the bad end, but there are others that...ugh...it shows a human being at their worst. And I'm not talking about the person who steals away the protagonist's love interest. I'm talking about the person being stolen away as well as the protagonist. Usually for the girl, it's having a weak constitution, not being trusting, not resisting, not feeling guilt about doing something that's wrong, or the aforementioned stupidity. For the protagonist, it's basically being spineless and weak-willed which combined with the negative qualities of the girl being stolen away kinda shows how fickle the relationship is between the two. And that kinda irks me when you think of how bad of a personality a human being can be.
Maybe I'm just rambling to most of you at this point, but it kind of leaves a bad taste in your mouth when you think about it like that. I figure most of the inspiration for such stories have to come from some real-world event or experience. And when you think of it like that, it kinda makes you nervous about what others in the world could be like.
Again, I could just be overanalyzing porn. These are just my thoughts on the matter.

Well I have to say, I can't stay away from NTR no matter how much I also dislike it. I usually like to imagine what I would do in retaliation though which always entertains me. So yeah I'd love to see a whole genre devoted to NTR revenge. NTR however is also the one genre that is most apt at showing raw emotion. You can feel the mix of emotion as the guy finds out he's being betrayed. The sadness and anger is palpable.

NTR is fine as long as there's futa in it.

Last time I've asked my BF about his opinion on NTR as it's been debated for quite sometime here. Knowing he had been reading NTR for quite some time thought his feedback might be helpful. He says that NTR is the only genre where you get to play the Bad guy here (bad guy being the protagonist, BF is just a side character). As bad guy, you'll gets the emotional thrill of raping her, getting her mindfucked to your will and slowly training/mindbreaking her so that she can't live without dicks anymore. It's a process, you'll get to slowly see the changes taking place in her via the sexual training, as you continue to rape her till she finally accepts her new live as a life of slut as once she starts giving into her new found pleasure. And with him as her new master. I think it kinda make sense his point of view, cause being a bad guy here you don't feel remorse only sense of accomplishment. hmm I don't know how about you guys?.

I love NTR because it reflects reality in terms of relationships. For starters, women LOVE sex. Not only that, most love to be completely dominated during sex by a MAN! They don't want that little boy who ask, "Can I kiss you?" They want a man who will push them against the wall, rip open her shirt, pull up her skirt, and go to town! Now, women may not want this ALL the time - but they like to know that their man is fully capable of this!
I, for one, HATE how most anime (in particular the shonen romance genre) highlight all these fucking losers who can't even get the nerve to confidently approach an attractive woman - but somehow have scores of women falling inlove with them because these guys are...wait for it.........nice. I imagine that, in the world of anime, over 90% of young, attractive females must be verbally and physically abused off camera if something as simple as, say, helping a girl carry a stack of paper up a flight of stairs is grounds for falling in love.
I love NTR because it's what eventually will happen to these relationships - where the loser bitcy boy gets with the uber hot girl. Eventually, being nice ain't gonna cut it when she meets a REAL man who will not only completely sweep her off her feet - they also arne't incompetent losers who can't achieve a normal daily task without be a drama queen.
NTR may not completely reflect how women really are - but in terms of what a woman really wants in the bed and in their man, it's FAR closer to the truth than seeing some bitch-tard loser getting the hot girl.
Of course, some are just for the fun ot it, since I am a bit of a sadist - I would love to see the devistated look on another man's face as he walks in on me plowing his young hot wife because he's too much of a workaholic to satisfy her sexual need. And I would love to see the look on her face after I impregnate her and tell her she's on her own and leave her on the side of the road as I drive off to ruin another seemingly happy couple.

What this man says sums it up.
I hate NTR yet find it so hot.

NTR, Vanilla, they're all the same to me, what's really important is the art is good, or at least the plot is original and entertaining.

Actually, your boyfriend is kind of right. NTR is netoru, which encompasses both netori and netorare. Based on what you said, your boyfriend is reading netorare stories, but instead of sympathizing with the protagonist, he sides with the bad guy.
So yeah, your boyfriend is still a netorare fan. This is the very thin line that netorare and netori functions in. That is why Japanese just generalize both words under the NTR umbrella term.

Sometimes I actually laugh at it, being that the plots normally fall into the "fucking retarded" category.

I used to like vanilla, but the stories in vanilla are slowly getting boring and there is no longer and drive for me to read vanilla due to the story. Some people say that the story doesn't matter as long as the art is good - I disagree. That's when I discovered netorare after trying to find a story that is different from the usual.
NTR will never get boring, despite the fact that many NTR stories will be the same - Why? That's because you actually feel strong emotions when you read the story in NTR. You might feel - Why did the girl do that? Why didn't the girl be straight with the boy (Another World)? You start to feel rage when you see the girl's guilt - Even though she feels guilty for cheating, she enjoys it so much that she just gives in to it. True enough, there are NTR stories that are crap and boring - but there are also some particularly good ones like Another World, Wednesday After School, Long Distance Relationship... I just simply get into the mood to fap when I read stories where the girl has sex with the other guy even though she loves the main character and doesn't want to lose him. Because of these emotions, NTR will never be boring to me.
That's not to say that I dislike good endings in NTR. For example, Wednesday After School's sequel has a good ending, or even the infamous When You Let Go of my Hand's final part to the story has a good ending. It makes me happy as well, but I don't mind bad endings too because it's the rage and emotions NTR makes you feel that makes NTR so enjoyable.

This is exactly why I love NTR. I'm pissed by the usual manga main character that get the hottest girl you can imagine whereas he just acts like a pussy. Plus the mindbreaking and the pathetic look on the main character face at the end excite me more than anything in porn. And bonus, there is no sweet talk. Seriously sweet talk and romance are really a mood killer in any kind of porn to me so I always kept myself far far away from vanilla.
But all that was until a few days. Since I read "Wednesday After School". I understood the feeling of people disgusted by NTR. The guy was neither a pussy or a drama-queen. He was just hanging out with his girlfriend, she doesn't want to have sex with him and she cheat on him with the worst kind of man possible. I felt so angry it was beyond words.
I assumed that this NTR was not good for me because I identified too with the main character so I read another one, and another...
I CAN'T STAND NTR ANYMORE
I deeply empathize with NTR MC now, so I can't fap to it anymore. And it is annoying because NTR was my favorite kind of mangas.
Am I the only one that went through those stages (for NTR or for another genre)?
Did it come back ? (Ok now I really sound like a pervert xD)

i think what many people have said sums up the reason NTR is so addictive, but there's many type of NTR (im not adding netori into this cuz is more mayb for a female to feel the emotion we feel from netorare, while the guy feels happy as hell we got a harem) some in which if the character wanted to do something he couldnt b possibly able to bc found to late or was incapacitated at the time.
however my love for NTR derives from the fact that sometimes i feel weak the fact that in real life if that happened u would b incapable of doing anything too, i mean even if u gave him a beating u probably could get charge with assault or w/e so dat emotion plays into it also the masochistic aspect i get from it.
u might b strong will or w/e or a pussy so u can sympathize with the character maybe plays a role to some too, there's many psychological and emotional things attach to netorare that is y many hate it and love it.
for me i love it to a certain degree, there's some stories that sometimes fall more into the rape sector while implementing some degree of netorare which i find not appealing so it depends really into what in ur particular interest of netorare is the stop this is beyond and what's not.

I honestly find NTR to be comic relief. I'd say 96% of NTR is really really poorly written. I don't expect the most greatest Hentai writing in NTR, but having the setting be "My Boyfriend/Husband is on a business trip and I'm lonely" over and over just makes me giggle more than react to it. Plus, NTR does have some of the best art(See artist of Unsweet Netorare) out of all the genres. Netori is basically a "Vanilla" version of NTR, so it doesn't count in my book.
Also, remember that NTR is basically just big, old, hairy men raping hot chicks for easy to counter blackmail or situations where telling the Boyfriend and or Husband would make the situation less stupid.
tl;dr - Don't take NTR seriously.
