noooo the hedgehogs... then again i suppose they've been in decline ever since they moved into a 3d habitat, many people think that the simply should have been left were they belonged

because people use pesticides. short as that.That's probably a big contributing factor, but the article also states, "habitat loss, poor management of hedgerows and fragmentation of habitat, due to new roads, housing and other developments." All of these would do a fine job of diminishing a population of a species.
