Spelling Pre-test
0
I was in 3rd grade. When you have a spelling test, you generally write down the word the teacher says to the best of your ability. My teacher gave us the word "a lot". Confused that 'a lot' isn't a word, I write down 'a lot'. She told us to be careful on this word because everyone screws it up. Now I'm second guessing myself and I erase my answer and change it to 'alot'.
Are you kidding me? 'A lot' isn't a word and I so confused as to why she even gave us a 'word' like that on a pre-test. So yeah, I had a teacher who at one instance thought it was cool to trip up students.
I bring this up because I'm constantly seeing people type out 'a lot' as one word. How retarded are these people.

I think we need to be more worried about these people:
- Your/You're
- There/Their/They're
- People who say would/could/should/might of (it's have you retards)
- To/Too

What. Actually scratched my head on this one...My college english teach just told us to read books. He'd post it on a projector sometimes or just write it on the board.
READ A BOOK. XD I agree with the advice. Reading helps develop grammar since someone specifically spell checks the entire book before it's printed.

It's relevant though, same thing if I posted a thread about soccer and you posted a video of David Beckham's goal against Wimbledon, it's old as fuck but still relevant.

Spoiler:
I didn't imply or say it wasn't relevant. I'm just saying that it's old enough to have been brought up in the majority of forum conversation dealing with grammar issues people have, and I was implying it really didn't need to show up in here. I've seen it too many times to enjoy seeing it again. That's all.

This is really common among people I know. However, I'm too scared to call out on this, since I don't know if they're just tired, or if I'll appear like an asshole.
