Started hentai review blog!
What kind of a review show would you actually check out?

Ok, now clearly the new video show by mostflogged is about reviewing hentai.
I had kind of the same deal in planing stages... but now I'm wondering if it would be at all worth pursuing. Would people actually watch/listen to another review show/podcast?
I'd likely be reviewing ONLY original work manga, no doujins/hentai anime/games, as that's what I peruse anyhow. I *could* do video stuff or only live streams, or recorded podcasts (but being a visual medium, this would be kinda odd).
Idk that I'd be as fun or able to cosplay for it (I have no costumes lol), but I figure it could be fun to try. I might wear nice stuff, at least look nice. It will be a fun way to practice speaking and reviewing stuff?
If you have suggestions of what software I could use for recording these such endeavors, please recommend it: I obviously have a webcam and mic, but haven't done much filmmaking or audio editing in a while. I do have filmmaking experience and recording experience, though, but on a Mac (now use Windows lol). Show name ideas also welcome~
Check the last post, am going to do a blog/livestream discussion combo!

In my opinion I would enjoy a review show that was animated or video game body acting. It does get boring staring at someone talking.
OT: Youtube.

Yeah, that's my only concern. However, I have not the animation skills.
I suppose I could narrate fun parts of the manga? XD

People need something to keep their attention.
If you're doing a solo project, then best you get mighty handy at video editing; heads-up displays, inserts, titles, that sort of thing. With mostflogged's video, I found myself getting bored. If you're gunning for eyecandy, then be prepared to switch it up and put yourself on display. A static model will not hold anyone's attention for very long.
Charisma is important too. Or at least being comfortable in front of a camera. No stuttering or long pauses.
Maybe consider subtle background music and/or short intros/outros.
Not pretending to be an expert, but I've experience with video editing. I use Adobe Premiere Pro and found it relatively intuitive. But with enough expertise, one could easily bust out something professional with it.
If you go through with this, feel free to ask me any questions you may have. Oh, and be ready to commit time; editing chews up a lot.

I would definitely be up for watching H-manga video reviews on YouTube if you did them, it's a cool idea after seeing mostflogged do one.

Seems like the OP is doing multiple projects after sets of examples.
But nonetheless I like the idea but I hope you don't act like one of those other reviewers who over react or act like a complete retard to sound funny.

....um what other project of mine is coming "after" another one?
The fanzine was pretty original. oO;
Yeah, I would not be over-hyping it: I'd only choose ones that are genuinely appealing to me.

H-game Let's plays sounds interesting.
I don't suggest using your webcam, but it looks like you know what you're doing. Good luck!

I think he's implying that you're trying to compete with mostflogged's just recently started series.

I realize that, hence the first sentence of the post... however, why not diversify the reviews availble.

You could cater to a certain kind of clientele depending on your interests. For example, if you're into vanilla, do vanilla reviews. Or you know, whatever you're into.
I would suggest coming up with a unified theme though, as opposed to a general catch-all "Hentai review show." That's just my 2c though.
Regardless, I'd watch it.

A future (near future) wherein there is an official hentai magazine. Done in the same fashion as gamer magazines; reviews, previews, spotlights, interviews, write-ins.
It's an interesting idea.
Both very sad, and very awesome.

Hey, art's art! Why not look at it as such~

The main issue with reviews is that obviously you have to censor it if you're going to show parts of the material on-screen. Although you can explain what's going on, sometimes it's better just to see it up front.
Like say you're reviewing Monmusu Quest like half the time the screen is going to be blurry. The game itself is already partially censored but you're going to have to censor the chest as well.
That's my two cents anyways. You don't have to put it on youtube but lets face it you're likely not going to get many views if it isn't on youtube unless you're extremely popular where it is linked.

It's porn with more effort put into it.
Porn in an art medium.
Semantics, maybe- But I would not call it art.
Difference between 'art' and 'artwork'. Art has meaning, artwork looks good. Sometimes they converge, but not often- and not in hentai. Hentai serves one purpose and one purpose only; boner.
Sure, they have stories. And the stories are magnitudes better than regular porn- but the ultimate goal remains the same: get your rocks off. No moral, no social commentary, no insight, no lesson, no Aesop's Fable.
