Yes, for things more advanced (like actual intercourse and STDs, etc.). But for girls, I know they taught us (all-girls school) about puberty and all that starting in grade 4 because it pertained to a lot of students at the time.

Same goes for boys: they should begin to understand their reproductive system, but not necessarily begin learning about sex.

I doubt children that age are concerned about sex or having sex altogether. Not necessary.

Obviously you can't replicate the sort of late primary school teaching for kids that young, but I remember there being some tame, subtly worded stuff introduced to the curriculum here, along with some books including gay characters. This government's a bit too nazi to do anything quite that radical again, but I suspect the thinking at the time was 'give them the right ideas before their parents fuck them up'. They didn't say that, naturally. :P

That age is waaaaaaaaaaay to early to talk about sex, hell they would not understand anything you are saying anyway, nor would they be paying any attention.

Sounds like a good idea to me, actually. I remember quite well what went on in kindergarten when I was there. Kids are not as innocent as people want to think, probably even less these days.
