I wanted to buy the second and third one but I only had enough for the 3rd and I heard that it's the best in the series.
Don't miss much from 1 and 2 expect a couple references here and there mention by the characters.

I couldn't find the first game but from reviews I have heard the combat system is the worst of the 3 games.
