I'm back from my dogwalk for more random goodness. By the way did you know that cherry liquor over vanilla ice cream really tastes good?

is it an specific type of cherry liquor?

It is... well how do you call it... don't know the english term. In german it is named "Aufgesetzter". You place the cheries within alcohol and suggar and let it stand for quite a while, once you deem it ready, the alcohol will have a strong cherry taste and be sweet, same as the fruit. Don't put too much on the ice or you will get drunk very very quickly. It is an idea I got from my aunt.
She only took barely the bottom of a tea cup and poured it over the ice - cream and topped it off with one of the cherries from the bowl. Tastes teh awesome I tell you.

Sounds like Crème de cassis to me, only with cherries.
