There isn't any really feasible way other than a sort of worldwide militia. And they'd all have to be martyrs, too. After slaughtering about over half the world's current population, it's only fair that they take the bullet as well.

I forgot to mention that I would have some leniency towards natives/aboriginal peoples, because I do think it would be a shame to have those cultures completely extinguished.

If they actually bounced back, and didn't take the money and do drugs... which it seems a lot do... Not saying all do, just seems like the ones I know of tend to use their government money to get high... It's sad and annoying

Certainly not the current ones, believe-you-me.
Ideally, people left alive would be:
-Scientists working in the fields of medicine, renewable energy and other green techs, sustainability, space.
-Farmers
-Technicians who operate and maintain power plants, the grid, sewage, water.
-Tradesmen, but only a small number. Smaller world requires fewer of everything. Keep more young ones and a few older ones with experience.
-Doctors and Nurses.
-Transport services, but also downsized.
-Aboriginal peoples, to give them another chance with a more equal footing than they had hundreds of years ago when we buttfucked and raped them to Hell and back.
Money would be kinda useless. And things would be kinda chaotic, but I do believe things would work themselves out afterwards- it has been proven that people can thrive in the face of adversity, and this should be no different.
Not that you GET to have your so-called master plan executed.

And bombing is too inefficient. The human body is actually quite resilient to shockwaves and flames.

Bombing would take too long and you'd be left with billions of cripples, and our hospitals are taxed as is.
Bombs are most effective for destroying shelter, facilities, and infrastructure and as a pure terror weapon.
Again- there is no way to fix things. Peace is stagnate, and war is not carried out properly.
There is need of another Genghis Khan. A true tyrant. After a reign of merciless slaughter, those remaining shall unite and overthrow him, and a new era of prosperity is ushered in.
That's how things work and have worked for hundreds of years.

And Genghis Khan is not really a tyrant. True, he did terrible things, mostly to his enemies and hi opposers, but if we look at things more objectively, he did things for a bigger cause, much like Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of China, or Cao Cao of the Three Dynasty period, but I won't go too far into history now.

My belief is that the herd has grown to the point of holding us back.
Shedding some excess weight would facilitate advancement- as it has done before.
Without the catastrophe of World War 2, we would have no radio, no computers, no freighters, no microwaves, we'd probably only be reaching space sometime around the mid-90's, and medicine and surgical knowledge would be about 50 years behind.
I submit my suggestion on the same grounds that there are organised forest fires; there is too much, and it's choking itself out. Burn all the muck and rot, and let life grow anew.

But we will need one eventually, and eventually, they will find it, the galaxy is big, there has to be a suitable place for us to live on.
