While I deeply respect the intention of your point, and agree with you in concept, I must make the case that being described in an inaccurate way by another person can be profoundly offensive and quite upsetting. Therefore to be inferred to be a homosexual when one does not engage in such activities can surely be considered slander and therefore insulting to a degree; if only because it demonstrates that those you thought knew you well, clearly do not. Well thinking about it, people arent just like this in video games, the attitude I mean. I saw it on some comments on a manga here, that gothic one a few weeks ago. So its not a surprise if its like that in real life as well.

There are a lot of more derogatory words than to call someone gay. In fact nowadays people use it so much it lost that feeling that you are really insulting, instead it feels comedic more than an actual slur to put the person down.

Sure, there are worse words. But still, it's childish to turn a sexual orientation into an insult.

Since this is an adult-minded site, I would expect people to behave like adults as well. IB would be an exception (since this is pretty much Fakkus cesspool), but I've seen people being called gay or fag way too often in other subforums to let it slide.
