We have seen the rock band causing minor trouble like keep people awake at night. Even the kind monk, Hijiri, wasn't pleased. Should we expect a full youkai orchestra someday? Will there be a music incident? Since rock music is not native to Gensokyo, will someday youkai learn of not so pleasant things from our world (Justin Beiber)?

If it hasn't happened already, its going to happen eventually. The punk rock that inspired Kyouko can't be more than 40 years old. It won't be long before truly scary things reaches the border of Earth and phantasm.

3. If I recall correctly, ZUN himself said that Rinnosuke was meant to represent the daily lives in Gensokyo. Assuming that is accurate, I don't think he will ever be a part of game. It's not like he will ever have a reason to participate anyway.
4. That is a very interesting question. If she dies, nobody will guard the Great Hakurei Barrier, which also disturbs the balance of reality and fantasy that keeps Gensokyo afloat. However, I think Yukari would have tried to find someone who could continue the tradition way before Reimu retired. There must be some requirements that one must fulfill in order to be recognized as a bonafide shrine maiden, though I am not really sure what is it.



I love orchestra. Therefore, I endorse this speculation.
But we know so little about Prismriver Sisters and how they determine where their concert should be held, so it is unfortunately not going to happen anytime soon. As for how our influence might affect the residents of Gensokyo, I think Wild and Horned Hermit already provides necessary information that most people there love to be old-fashioned and find technology, or everything that is not ordinary by their standard, a hassle to learn about.

The number 1 requirement is cosplay and armpits right? If Yukari is the shrine maiden employment director certainly she knows who the shrine maiden was before Reimu. I wouldn't be surprised if Yukari just kidnapped some human to fill the job. Right now I think those two humans who came to Gensokyo one night then left (dont remember names) would be top candidates to show armpits if Reimu ever left.


There is a limit to being old-fashioned. Something like electricity has to appear eventually. Electricity from either geothermal (the heat source of the hot springs after SA) or nuclear (Okuu) power sources would be a hit with humans and youkai, or at least one Kappa. Refrigeration using spiritsmyons would be cool too.

It's also been decided that our local butterfly resident must be killed for world to be a better place. Pray4Bieber.



This actually sounds like a thoughtful idea. In any case though, I think Yukari wouldn't let Reimu retire or worse, die, in the first place. It's been known that she once told Reimu to eat Mokou's guts for immortality, in joking-manner or maybe not.



While humans there are old-fashioned, the youkai don't seem to share the same sentiment. For an example, kappas are famous for being advanced in technology and geniuses at what they care about, which seems to revolve around inventing or experimenting in most cases. Do you know about the tengu? They seem to be in-between kappa (future) and humans (old).

I can easily get 10 books in the time it takes me to get the one DVD. Plus garage kits... plus card sleeves... plus figures... plus stickers... plus keychains... plus wallscrolls... I don't even want to talk about all the music CDs! >

Pretty much just that. It doesn't seem like much really happens at those things, so I kinda don't understand the hype, other than getting things you usually wouldn't be able to get otherwise.

The savings you get from buying things at Comiket vs. buying them at Toranoana or MelonBooks or other stores is too huge: 500/1000 yen ($5/$10) for most books and music CDs, 10k yen for dakimakura covers, and just like you said, the countless extras and exclusives that most circles throw out there. For example, my Silver Forest tapestry of Youmu is signed by almost all the band members (one of them was sick and couldn't attend Reitaisai) and 95% of circles will agree to signing your CDs, taking your picture with them or even direct you to other stuff you might also want.

What you can get for your money at Comiket would cost you 2-3x as much by buying it on Akihabara or even online... ESPECIALLY online: I personally know people coming from Kyoto, Okinawa and Korea to buy stuff to resell online, not even mentioning all the rest...
