It worked fine during 3 games without it.

No, it's really confusing me as to which claims are legitimate at this point. Though you'll remember Waar saying that he makes the rules based on what he thinks makes sense, not on what the userbase thinks.

I usually type the full names in anyway but it feels now that I can be screwed out of a waifu that I claimed properly because I made a technical error by not adding an obscure part of the name and blah blah blah...

I agree. If you can't even be bothered to know the full name of the girl you're claiming might as well don't even bother to play the game at all.

If it was a simple matter of people stealing because the idiot only put the first name for his claim then I would agree with you, I've only had two situations where that happened, one was me and the other was Waar.

Everyone else blew it out of proportion and skewed what Waar had meant by trying to drag alias names into this, which is not how it works.

If you don't know her full name then she shouldn't be your waifu. Especially if someone else wants her and knows more about her then said person.

Yes, some people just went overboard (Elfen Lied cough). Now I believe it would be hard to draft a clear rule as the situation could be different in every claim. I believe the what we are doing now is sufficient, with Oneshott and Waar checking the validity of every "steal".

This rule was never apparent in the last three games. Why change some that isn't broke?

The rule existed and I have told users to post the full name of their girl or it would invalidate the selection. I've said it using pm's, skype, IRC, CR, posted in the thread itself. I don't see the issue with the rule as long as I'm here to decide if it's valid. I take a week off and you all scream "head for the hills". The outcome of this poll will have no bearing on my decision; I will not change the rule as I don't agree with you. Feel free to not play if you can't deal.
