What do your friends think of hentai?

Most of my friend thought Hentai as 'childish' and prefer real porn over Hentai. Guess different people have different opinion

I don't have the courage to mention it to my friends, since I doubt any of them do. I might pop the question if I had a friend that was into anime, but most of my friends don't even like that either!

They very people I've mentioned it to happen to be my friends who are into anime - kind of odd since I'm not really into non-hentai anime at all, myself. I guess people who like anime are more likely to be receptive to the idea but I do often wonder what (probably small) percentage of H fanatics are like me and generally lack interest in other genres.
A minority within a minority!

As a kid I was always into Pokémon and such, you know, the usual. As I started watching porn as a teenager, I stumbled across hentai, which ultimately lead me to my anime hobby / addiction. Now I can't go a day or two without watching at least one episode!
But you know, all to there own opinions I guess, but I recommend you check some anime out if you haven't already!

They typically keep it private, however one of my friends is probably on here lurking or otherwise (Irvin I know you're here somewhere!) Actually, if Irvin is here (from Sterling Virginia) I (Eric) want you to PM me. David, I'm probably sure you're here too.

They "hate" it. I know some of them watch it but they don't talk about it. They find hentai disturbing and stupid since the don't understand why someone would be turned on by "cartoons having sex". Since I have seen how they react to hentai, I have keep my love for it a secret. One of them probably suspects I do but he knows that I know that he does like hentai and won't talk about it in fear of him revealing it. Another just plain changes the conversation every time something ecchi or hentai related is discussed. That's how they are, nothing I can do about it. I just let them be.

actually, one of my friends in high school told me about Fakku.
anyhow i have a friend named Ryugi whom i talk about mainly video games and hentai with. since he can speak and read Japanese fluently he showed me a bunch of games, such as Usashitsuke and Guri Guri Cute Yuffie. but we both promised each other that all we talk about we never breathe a word to anyone else. pretty much he put we have a gun to each others head.
the rest of my friends know about it but don't think too much about it. just the whole "i've seen enough hentai to know where this is going" joke. not enough knowledge to know what La Blue Girl is or Homunculus, etc.

Most of my friends in college were born in countryside and moved to city to study, they almost don't know anything about english so i doubt that they even know what anime and manga stand for no matter what they get into it or not.

Only a few of my friends know hentai. Two of them are sorta open when talking about this in public. Most of the time, they would recommend me some hentai animes to watch. Sometimes, they would copy the moanings from those hentai animes that they've watched and use it to annoy me and my other friends.

All friends and family know of my hobby and my little library of hentai stuff, no interests in either way, just a big indifference to it.

Only a few of my closest cohorts are aware that I read H-manga.
This is because of two reasons:
1. I am NOT (and one who is a friend of mine is also NOT) an otaku.
Otakus (or basement dwelling weaboos; a more recognisable designation) sometimes referred to as Hikikomori are the creepiest and most dangerous people out there. They also happen to be (at least in Japan) the majority of the H-manga consumership.
Thusly, they (and anyone perceived to be one of them) are looked at badly.
2. I also am not much of a big-time anime fan; Lupin III (The original 1970s' series), Ranma, Girls Bravo, Shuffle, The Quasar of Stigmata, SUPER Gals!, Azumanga Daioh (to some extent), Kanon, Banner of the Stars (to some extent), The Prince of Tennis (barely), Excel Saga, The World God Only Knows, Kiss x Sis, Dragon Ball, Astro Boy (to some extent), Sailor Moon and maybe a few others that I couldn't come up with after sitting here thinking for twenty minutes, are the only anime I have really watched.
I'm more of a video game guy; POKéMON, The Legend of Zelda, Dragon Quest, Harvest Moon, Mario, (older) Final Fantasy games, much of the Megami Tensei series (not much of the Shin Megami Tensei stuff, though), Sonic, Mega Man, Metroid, etc., etc.

My friends huh..
We hang out, Play videogames, And more. They assume i like the same stuff as they do because we do it together, so we never associate each other with private things that we don't do together. i consider reading H-Manga as something you'd keep to yourself, unless it becomes a hobby in which you feel like involving like-minded people.

It's pretty normal in Japan, we discuss them among pals and exchange books. It's part of our culture out here.

None of my irl friends look at it except one. The rest just think it's wired and because of this I've never told them I look at it except that one friend. It's a shame though since they have no idea what they're missing.
