I think he's referring to believing in science aspect. You study science and perform experiments, not believe in it like a religion.

I believe in science. I'm not a scientist, I don't conduct experiments. I have faith in what the scientists tell me.
Science is not a religion, absolutely not but you shouldn't take everything you hear as absolute truth either. Not to forget that essentially everything have the possibility of being disproved.

Absolutely, I choose those words to clarify the point. People get so upset when you use the words faith and belief in regard to science.
