I just said it to stop somebody going on about how science is a belief or some shit.

The word believe is the issue here. Nothing to do with "religion".
I believe in science. I'm not a scientist, I don't conduct experiments. I have faith in what the scientists tell me.
Science is not a religion, absolutely not but you shouldn't take everything you hear as absolute truth either. Not to forget that essentially everything have the possibility of being disproved.
Exactly. Although if you want me be anal about linguistics, I would say you "trust" certain things explained by science.(maybe?)

If you put it that way, I guess you're right. I'm just Buddhist by default. Other than that, my family and I aren't very serious about our own religion.
