This manga provides examples of:
* Absurdly Sharp Blade — One whole chapter revolves around these. It ends badly for Sayurin.
* Acceptable Hard Luck Targets — Sayurin is a quadruple-amputee.
* Big Damn Heroes — Kaede impaling the President in the head just as he threatens Mai with A Fate Worse Than Death.
* Blind Idiot Translation — "The flesh of yourself," among others.
* Brother Sister Incest — The one instance in which vaginal with Mai actually gets her pregnant.
o Though it's not certain that Mai and Kizuna are actually siblings, only that they have the same healing factor.
* Complete Monster — Pretty much anyone in the story who isn't a slave.
* Cruel And Unusual Death — Mai's baby. 'nuff said.
* Dead Baby Comedy — And at one point, literally.
* Evil Foreigner — The President of "A" Country.
* Eye Scream — Mai, frequently. Sayurin, one time too many. Kaede, in the final chapter.
* Fan Disservice — Any possible instance of Fan Service is undercut by everything else that's happening around it.
* Fascists Bed Time — If Mai misses her curfew, Kaede sends a tiger to fetch her, with predictable results.
* A Fate Worse Than Death — The President threatens this upon Mai. Shortly thereafter, however, Kaede saves Mai from this by impaling the president in the skull.
* Gorn — All of Uziga's mangas are in the "erotic grotesque", or "guro", genre, combining this with hentai.
* Healing Factor — Mai and Kizuna's bodies eventually regenerate any damage done to them, as long as there is at least some tissue left intact. The process isn't instantaneous, and can require a kickstart; in the first chapter, Kaede puts a butchered chicken into Mai's belly cavity, apparently to provide fuel for her regeneration.
o As a side effect, Mai's body also absorbs foreign organic matter, which effectively renders her barren...until Kizuna is forced by Kaede to have sex with Mai. His semen stays viable in Mai's body because it carries his healing ability, protecting it from Mai's.
* Heroic BSOD — Mai has one after Sayurin's death, to the point of amnesia.
* High Octane Nightmare Fuel — Pretty much the entire work, and epitomized by the final chapter.
* Hoist By His Own Petard: Hey, Mr. President of "A" Country! Remember the employer of the girl that you've been raping and had just blenderized her baby, whom you've previously stuck a metal ice-pick through her eye? Well, it's seems like you completely missed her brain and your "bodyguards" are lousy, cause she's standing right behind you, your goons are dead, and she's just about two seconds from returning the favor... Oh, don't worry, you'll live; though you'll probably be ousted from presidency in two weeks tops (on second thought, one week alone would be pure luck) on account of becoming even more retarded than you were before.
* I'm A Humanitarian — Sayurin's first meal at Kaede's mansion is Mai's flesh, rendered into palatable forms. It takes multiple attempts before she'll eat.
* Karma Houdini — All of Kaede's clients, except for the President and his Secret Service agents henchmen.
* Kill The Cutie — Mai and Kizuna, over and over and over...except for that whole ultra-healing thing. And then there's Sayurin and Mai's baby.
* Laser Guided Karma: President Reitmann and his..."security detail".
* Made Of Plasticine — Some of Mai's injuries evoke this.
* Meaningful Name — Although different kanji are used, "Waita Uziga" roughly means "the maggots have gushed forth". Considering his body of work...
* Meido — Mai's day job.
* Memetic Mutation — "BABY FUCK, BABY FUCK!!!!! IT'SSS AWWRIGHTTT!!!~~~~~"
* Mind Rape — For the reader.
o For God's sake, it has BRAIN rape! (Not. Safe. For. Work. At. All You have been warned).
* Mood Whiplash — Typical humorous anime expressions and effects are lightly sprinkled through the horrific Gorn and dismemberment.
* Moral Event Horizon — All of Kaede's clients, but especially the President, who puts out one of Kaede's eyes, then rips Mai's baby daughter out of her body, rapes her, and then purees her in a blender.
* Narm — Especially the Baby in a Blender.
o Baby dust, don't breathe this!
* Omake — At the end of the story, Kaede and Mai answer fan questions, and Kaede reveals what it would take to actually kill Mai...and then demonstrates it.
* President Evil — George Reitmann, President of "A" Country.
* Rape As Drama — Played horrifically straight.
* Squick — So much that it easily crosses into Nausea Fuel.
* Tear Jerker — Sayurin's death and the aftermath.
o As well as that of Mai's baby.
* Too Kinky To Torture — Kizuna feels pain as pleasure.
* Torture Cellar — The basement of Kaede's mansion.
* Who Wants To Live Forever — Part of what Mai deals with on a daily basis.
* The Woobie — All the slaves, but especially Mai.
* You Fail Biology Forever — Implausibility of the healing factor aside, some of the tortures inflicted on Mai would be physically impossible.
* Your Mileage May Vary — Depending on your sense of humor, this series may either be terrifying and sickening, or its massive Refuge In Audacity makes it hilarious in a really dark way.
o Also, if you've seen a decent amount of guro and eroguro, this is not as bad as anything else you've already seen. This troper was actually surprised by how little shock there was after all the hype. Your mileage may also vary on any humor, as this is a lot less humorous than other guro works which often rely on plenty of dark humor or plot surrealism, and this could either be Dude Not Funny or just an unfortunate letdown in comedy.
