The muppet show was the original and yes they were puppets. Muppet Babies was made when the franchise needed to exercise it's copyright on the characters and really wasn't that bad when your best friends 4 YO daughter decided because you crashed on the couch after running a D&D game all night that you were now part of the couch and it was tv time. Maybe that was the whole being half awake after about 3 hours of sleep thing.
And yes, Miss Piggy was a serial rapist. Kermit, like many men, didn't come forward out of shame and embarrassment, not to mention she did it on tv week after week and no one raised a hand to help him. I'll bet there would have been an outrage if the genders had been reversed on that one.

pretty sure it was because Kermit was gay... The Weezer vid was pretty cool a while back.
