I see it like this; Good hentai manga needs both a plot and the sex. Because if I want to read a manga ONLY for the plot, I just read regular manga. But I love to read a well made doujinshi based on a manga that I like. I feel like that creates a sort of "background story" since it's characters you already know, being in a situation that will never happen in the original series, but I enjoy the fantasy. But even original work hentai manga with a good plot and nice character development, is very enjoyable to read.

Reading H-manga only for plot? If you're doing that, you're doing it wrong and only setting yourself up for disappointment. You're supposed to read H-manga for the sex and artwork. If it has a decent plot, I look at it as a bonus/surprise. So if it's absent, I'm not disappointed when I get to the end unlike a person who was looking for a plot and found none, so they're disappointed because of it.

I go for the sex, but I love it when the story is great. I choose to only read English translations, though. Even if what they're saying is stupid, I'd still like to be able to read it.

Most plots are really basic, but when there's a good one, it's really worth reading. There's some pretty interesting material on this site :D

It really is a mood thing. Sometimes i couldn't care less about the plot and only want amazing sex scenes. Other times, the plot really does matter when i'm really in the mood for it. But good sex scenes should be in all of them lolz

It's just more enjoyable reading it and fapping to it if you know what's going on, which is why I rarely read non-translated doujins.

Well I personally think the erotic drama type of Hentai Manga is on a massive rise (Place erotic pun here), I believe the sort of Hentai that has a interesting plotline and well as good sexual content and ecchi moments is alot more appealling to the fans...Stuff like Nozoki Ana and Futari H, Maybe in a lesser extent stuff like welcome to the boys dormitory of momozono school

It really is a mood thing. I come to hentai doujin looking for a nice pre-made fantasy to put myself into: so a mixture of sex and story. But every once in a while once comes along with a story that's cute or otherwise compelling somehow, and I'll abandon the sex scenes and read it in earnest.

There was one with a really contrived plot that had the main character (school girl) being beaten in these games by this guy. As a penalty/reward the guy would have anal sex with her every time he won. Despite how ridiculous the plot was, by the time they really fell in love at the end it was "Awww so sweet!", despite the fact that it was (piratically forced) anal sex which is less than a turn on for me.

I pick both, because sex without a plot is just meaningless. If you wanted just sex go watch porn, I am here for something to catch my interest not something to bore me. (and after you read the "forced, monster, tentacle, ntr, and etc. tags" you can't go back to normal sex....) (-_-)
