I will never understand why people find Harry Hill amusing. Maybe it's the baldness.

Anyway, I've seen Jimmy Carr live, and he was just brilliant. Otherwise Bill Bailey, Jason Manford, Sean Lock, Dara Ó Briain, Ed Byrne, Dylan Moran, Frankie Boyle, Rich Hall...yeah, reads like a panel show line-up, but I have seen live shows from all of them. I most enjoy the Carr/Lock/Boyle brands of 'extreme comedy'.

Most likely none of you will ever have heard of him but Magnus Betnér (best swedish comedian off all time I'd say).

Frankie Boyle, Eddie Izzard, Dane Cook, Russel Howard. All very funny

Yeah, Eddie Izzard can be brilliant. There's more in his shows that isn't funny than is, but the bits that are are beautifully conceived and downright hilarious. I'd put his rare success in the US down to eccentricity and harmless comedy, though, which is unfortunate.
