i would really like opinions from all spectrums, i have them sitting here, but if i can watch the movies and have everything conveyed to me (miniscule details dont tend to be really important to me, i.e., the amount of hairs on a random hobbits foot) then i probably wont pick them up, i have other books i can read. but, in the event that there are important things that weren't put into the movie that are worth reading, please, enlighten me.

Well, there's the incident with the barrow writes in Fellowship. Uhhhhhh, OH, and at the end of Return of the King Sarumon comes to the shire and fucks things up a bit, but gets his ass handed to him by Sam.....I think, it's been a while since I read them. Another recommended read from Tolkien, The Silmarillion.
