Starting a collection

I was wondering what place online has the best inventory or cheap price for preorders, mostly figures because I want to start my collection. I have around 200ish dollar to spend on it please I need help on which is the best type to get and general price on scaling. Thank you.

Its best to take alook around your area for a local shop that sells such figures as it may be cheaper and you can inspect the quality yourself.

A note for those starting collecting figs is that to research what you want and buy it rather than impulse buy.

I usually buy All of my stuff from Amazon.But one place that has earned my liking is Hobby hunters.I buy just basic stuff like a final fantasy figurine.If you buy online make sure your item is original and just put it on express shipping. from experience i hate waiting a week or so for my stuff to come.

The shipping is what kills the pricing, I found a figure of Maid Bride for $105, Van from Gun X Sword $80 and $25 for a C.C. figure, is the deal good and are figures more expensive at the Anime expo 11 because I might go.

Do what you gotta do.If you think shipping prices might kill what will hurt even more is waiting for the package to come if you are a impatient person like me.

Go SAL if you want cheaper and if possible have all your purchases at the same site and request they be sent in a same box.That way it be cheaper. SAL takes about 3-4 weeks to reach your place.

EMS takes 3-4 days and but it costs more.

Take a look for yourself at the expo.As long as you feel the price is right enough to warrant the price,go ahead and get it then.

Are boxes that the figures are in important?

When buying or after buying them?

They are important as along with the clamp shell they will protect the fig inside during transportation.

Some people keep their figs in boxes, never take them out is to prevent dust and accidents and display them as it is lol.

Some boxes make for great backdrops.

I threw away all of my boxes.sort of regret doing that now but i'm the type of person that like to have their figurines out so they can breath and i can hold them,be able to stare to and enjoy their beauty.

As long as you keep your room itself clean and free of dust,it shouldnt be a problem.A display case would be ideal but shelves etc will be fine.

Well $130 for 4 figures without boxes is hopefully a good price and I got to clean my room anyways, I'll take good care of them. I post a pic. when they arrive.

If you're going to buy stuff at a con, usually the last day is the best day to buy stuff, dealers will discount stuff so they don't have as much merchandise to bring back with them. xD

If you're local to SoCal, I'd definitely recommend stopping by Frank & Son, get there early because parking is terrible (and bring cash!)... but this is 100x better than any Dealers Room at a con, you can find all sorts of rare plushies, model kits, gashaphon, etc. plus you can haggle. :D As far as online shops go, I've ordered some of my figures from Anime Castle plus they do free standard shipping over orders of $85.

Yep I'm going to Anime expo just bought tickets to Hatsune Miku concert and 4 day pass, just need to get a hotel now.

Lol, I think that I'm now addicted to buying figures I bought a lot and preodered a couple.

Just make sure you have the money to cover for it.
