[Locked] Discussion: Simulpublished Magazines and Licensed Content

None of this explains why very specific controversial tags have been completely removed. Many of the works under the Loli and Incest tags, for example, were original works not requiring licensing. If it were as you say, then there would be no tags left at all. Instead, only the most controversial have been removed.

I feel as though you're trying to explain why Harry killed Paul to distract us from why Suzy killed Harry.

Not to be rude but you obviously don't get how licensing works. "Original" content on the site are licensed by their authors and publishers just the same as how parody content is licensed by the original creators. Basically everything currently on the site is going to be removed then they will upload content they have licensed.

when will the old tags like "loli, forced" and more

Be that as it may, it still doesn't explain why only the most controversial have been removed. It's very clear that more is going on then they care to explain.

This has been discussed so many times, I've already lost count. These were the first to be removed, but the rest is going soon as well. And Fakku will still be publishing "controversial" content as well, so there really is no reason to worry that they would be somehow cleaning the site from such things. Some of the already announced titles are quite extreme, e.g. NTR².

This definitely sounds cool. My immediate concern though is whether the content will be downloadable. The tankoubon that FAKKU has published in print and in digital format have been downloadable, whereas the "gift" chapters that were made available for folks who had bought one of the FAKKU tankoubon are only viewable in the browser. I have _zero_ interest in reading manga in my browser. If it's going to be digital, I want to be able to download the zip file with the individual images in my picture-viewing app of choice and not have to worry whether I currently have a good connection to FAKKU (or whether FAKKU even exists anymore, though hopefully that won't be a problem anytime soon). So, if these magazines are only made available as viewable in the browser and not downloadable, then I'm a _lot_ less likely to be interested, whereas if they're downloadable, I'm definitely going to be buying them.

Another question would be whether these magazines will be available in physical form. I'm assuming not, but it would be nice if they were.

Listened to the ANN podcast you posted. I feel the utmost respect for you now, especially listening to last minutes of the podcast. I never really thought about the person running this site, and got upset about your removal of content sometimes, but hearing your views, I will support this site as much i can!

This is great news, it is great to see that we will see more great content in the future. The fact that it will be official work is really cool. The gradual process to becoming a fully legal site will undoubtedly bring a lot of quality that we now only can see in the books we already have available.
Personally I have a really soft spot for "fanbooks" of official series and i would love to see plenty of them in the future, however seeing that most copyright holders might be protective of their IP compared to what we see practised Japan it will probably be something that will happen at a much slower rate.
I really liked the podcast and will definitely be checking out more of them, maybe Fakku should have one occasionally with recommendations. I know I went straight to Jast to check out their works.

Yeah, the legal problems would be interesting. I wonder if it would be possible to publish works similar to "Cure Assort" by 434 Not Found, but apply it to other artists. Digital only publishing might be a way to help (Like "Cure Assort").

how will we know what are subscriber items?

I dunno. $13 a month for the subscription and there's no guarantee the individual releases will even be what the payer wants. Paying for porn tends to leave a bad taste in my mouth, even though I'm aware hentai doesn't fall under the same category as your average pornography. I adored the Fakku Books when they were introduced because it gave me/us a chance to own physical copies of hentai I had previewed fully already. I was able to buy the books I wanted BECAUSE I had read them online for free from this site, and thus I knew what I was buying and gladly bought what was there to support the artist and the site.

Furthermore, the removal of "controversial" content awhile back "affected" me very much, as nearly 3 years of favourites were removed and I don't even know the titles of them to this day...I feel little need to buy a subscription when the content that brought me TO this site is not guaranteed to reappear in a good format. Basically, I see that in order to view any content that I liked, I would almost be forced to purchase the subscription to guarantee such content even appears. I am aware that things like incest, loli, forced, monster girl, etc. will be present in the magazine and hentai subscriptions, but it is still upsetting that the reason why I visited here and even recommended the site to so many people has changed to the point where paid subscriptions are the only viable way to view my desired content. I understand why the site is going the way it is, and I think it is a good business decision, but it is still something I am not pleased with.

Hah...I almost regret falling in love with Monstergirls, lolis, and incest stories, if I am now "encouraged" to pay just to read content with them in it...

Jacob made the favorites export tool a couple weeks ago so you can see what the favorites you had were. https://www.fakku.net/forums/feedback-suggestions-and-support/favorites-collections-export
