A best Web browser ?
0
Hello.
I have just "upgraded" (or disgraded/disgraced ???) Firefox -- and its famous "Autralis" theme...
Tired from an interface more beautiful than handy ? You used a ton of add-ons just to return to something more handy than rather (just ?) "beautiful" ? Web browsing had become slower and slower as you add more and more add-ons, with all the previous you could have already installed ?
Maybe it's time to switch for Pale Moon : it's all like Firefox, minus the Australis theme. Moreover, all the Firefox extensions work on it.
I also know See Monkey -- my spare Web browser. Pretty similar to an old school Firefox in my opinion.
Maybe you too would like to suggest a browser better than Firefox ? Feel free to recommend it right here.
_______________
EDIT : I apologize for the fault in the title, I forgot to change "best" to "better".

I remember Chrome to not have as (so) many extensions as the actual Mozilla's ones. Has it change a bit ?...

try maxthon 4
http://www.maxthon.com/
its a very fast and stable browser, it has also many usefull features, for wich crome needs addons, (this includes full cloud support [cloud-push, cloud storage, sync options])

I did not know Maxthon. I'll give a try next week-end just to see.
I like add-ons because it gives you room to improve and/or personalize your Web browsing experience.
Say, do you like or dislike the add-on principle ?

Chrome has full support for cloud syncing as long as you have a Google account.

I always find addons/themes to revert Firefox's look all the way back to v3/4, but yeah. It's annoying and the changes are consistently awful.

for maxthon you also need a account, but it doesnt require any addons for (cloudpush)
it also has a better security, i tested it with my 2 accounts, you cannot use password/other personal cloud stored files from the browser. with other accounts than the account that it belongs to.
it doesnt have many addons yet but you can also make your own
http://extension.maxthon.com/
(in a newer version, [now in private beta] you can skipp adds within videos, it also has buildin addblocker, [manually you can block adds too])
it also has multi-search option, with this you can add {almost} every search-enigine to multi-search, so you can look with every search-enigine when you want it

I use chrome. Firefox failed me and lost all my saved things... I deleted it and started again on chrome.
Only thing I miss from firefox was the xbox live app. It worked soo well. You could see who was online, send messages, receive messages, etc. It was awesome. Chrome doesn't have it.
Despite being a ram whore, I like chrome a lot.
It's got a black theme on it, and I love it. I especially like being able to type into the address bar and it searches google for me/ if I press enter, it auto google searches. Handy as shit

I've used Pale Moon for quite some time. It's functional, I've had no problems with it. And like you pointed out, it has the older layout which is more useful to me.
Pale Moon's creates even explain why the old style layout is better in full screen mode, though they admit the newer layout is more functional in windowed mode.

It's become more catered to the tablet/PC hybrid trend that Microsoft is heading too, it's technically the only one fully designed to take advantage of touch screen capability. However, there's a lot of things on IE that tends to slow it down. If I could find a devs. Version that'd be helpful. I still use it, especially since I have a touchscreen computer.

For GNU/Linux users I recommend dwb; lightweight and efficient with vi-like bindings and all the important features you'd need in a browser.

I personally use Aurora, which is like the Firefox Beta update version. I had a friend go into it and customize it a ton within the internal settings to optimize it and then added a few add-ons and did some customization to make it feel more natural; however, I still feel like Chrome has worked the best for me. I'm trying to stick with Aurora to give it a chance since I know lots of people who prefer it, but I feel like Chrome's possibly the browser for me. I don't even think you need too many add-ons for Chrome, either. Tineye can be neat to do reverse-image searching, then use adblock and that's about it I think? It works pretty well and quickly.
