Cryonics

I think a lot of people have a general idea of what a cryonics is. It comes out in sci-fi movie often, where people are frozen, put into slumber, and are awaken many years later in the future.

There is a hospital right downstairs of my apartment, and apparently they are now adding cryonics to their service. I don't know the full details, since I have not talked to any of the experts there regarding cryonics myself, but it seems that they can now successfully and safely "freeze" (not really according to Wiki) people without damaging or killing them. To elaborate, they cannot "un-freeze" the patients or people that are "frozen." However, because they can "freeze" them without harming them, maybe many years later in the future the technology will be advanced enough to "un-freeze" the patients. In which case, the cryonics that we see in sci-fi movies will become a reality. I just found it really cool, and who knows maybe I will sign up for one of those later :P

I wouldn't sign up for it. I'm a loner, but even I would hate to wake up in a world where everyone I know and love has died.
