Dakimakuras anyone?

Nice on most of that...
So this one might be obvious, but if I use SMJ to just order a bunch of stuff from "one" place, then they could bunch them up? Just not when it's mixed?
Do I need to do manual orders for them to hold things or is that an option through the pay process?
How fast is SMJ?

Depends on what you mean by "bunch them up". You can order from several places and then have all the items shipped to you at the same time, after they all arrive at their warehouse and you pay for everything. I'm assuming that's what you mean, but just in case: You couldn't order from several different sites and expect there to be only one shipping charge/commission fee; just as you wouldn't order something from Newegg and Amazon and expect them to arrive in the same package/for one shipping fee.
Similarly, you can order a bunch of stuff from one website and usually combine shipping to have it shipped to SMJ, but not all the time. Usually if you're doing a special order and include items that are in stock and preorder items (say that are releasing two months from now), they'll usually only order the in stock items and request that you put in another order for the items releasing at a later date. Basically, if the items are all in stock or set to release at around the same time, from the same website, SMJ will usually combine shipping to their warehouse. However, this has absolutely nothing to do with the goods getting to you.

Not quite sure what you're asking here. You buy items and have 14 days to pay for them. If your items are sent to their US facility (usually only if you're located in the US yourself), they'll hold them for 90 days. You can request shipping at any time for items that are paid for and stored.

Hi there,
I just bought 2 160x50cm dakis, but I'm a bit confused about the size. My friend told me that my 150x50cm body will fit, but I think the 10cm makes a great difference. Any recommendations about the A&J body? I heard that after some time you get like small balls of stuffing, any way to prevent that or are you able to buy new stuffing?
What should I choose, a new 150x50cm from Cospa or the 160x50cm version from A&J.
Are there pictures from the Appare! Tenka Gomen C82 Eiki dakimakura where she isn't censored and you're able to see the other side?
Cheers

10 cm definitely isn't a small amount, especially if the material is of the stretchy variety (smooth knit, 2WR/2WT.) Of course a 150x50 body will work in a pinch, but obviously a better fitting body would be better.
Zengar would be the person to ask about A&J pillows and other higher end bodies. Personally, I like collecting covers and haven't yet bothered with more than one Cospa 150x50 body. Honestly, when I do buy some more pillows, I'll probably be getting them done by a pillow manufacturer that does custom sizes. I wasn't that impressed with the standard 150x50 Cospa pillow for the price, so I'd personally be fine with a much cheaper pillow as long as the fit were decent and it was comfortable enough.
I know Willoywicca posted a link a few weeks back that showed the other side. It wasn't the best sample, but much better than the sample Baseson has provided.

Haven't been able to find any proper pictures of that cover, though this blog http://minkara.carview.co.jp/userid/460200/blog/27529938/ does give a pretty good idea of what most of the reverse side is like.
Regarding pillows, you're probably better off getting a 160x50 one. The A&J one has a zipper on it afaik (I don't own one myself) so you can add more stuffing easily any time you like.
SMJ stuffs arrived.. a bunch of covers I managed to snag cheap on YJA... Bonus points if you can figure out which cover the bottom-right one is! (well it has the SMJ tag visible so I guess it's quite easy to figure out :p)

Edit: Damn that speedy Shashin!1

Thanks for your replies.
The thing with the zipper is really nice, I'll contact my local shop if they can get one from A&J for me.
Hmm, well I bought the Eiki one, gotta upload some pictures when she's here :D
Has anyone ever had issues with mandarake? My order got cancelled from them for no concrete reason :S I got my hands on a Purely Kiss cover for a fair price, but now I need to revert to Yahoo Japan Auctions to get it...for a much higher price. Could it be, that they sold it directly in one of their stores and someone bought it before me?

That's the most likely reason yeah. It can happen reasonably often, as the website often doesn't get updated to reflect the in-store changes in stock due to actual people coming in and buying stuff. Sometimes an item visible on the website for months has actually been sold out long ago and just not updated to show it (which it does get when you try to order it and they cancel the order).

Yep, that was also their response, the items was sold in one of their stores. I searched on Yahoo Japan but I'm not quite sure if I want to buy a used dakimakura and the new and unopened costs 22k, for 10k more I could get a Miku young version cover (which I really want), but the next Dreamparty is also coming up ^^ Anyone got some information or is even attending?
Is there a database which lets you search for certain characterstics? I'm into pettanko, but not lolis, and crawling through thousands of offers and searching for the pictures just takes too much time

Hmm, I'm not aware of any specific database for dakimakura covers that divides them by characteristics.. best bet would be an image site like danbooru that has a decent variety of dakimakura pictures.. or you can use animecharacterdatabase to find characters with characteristics you like then check if they have dakimakura or not on the blog (likely a very time consuming process).

What's that last one from? <3 tentacles......Do Japanese PC games work on US systems? I know about region settings and have gotten plenty to run, I'm just wondering if I can slap disks in and my PC will read them?
It is called Gyakushuu 4. I have never played it, but thought it was hot, and it was the right price (cheap) so I pulled the trigger. I absolutely love it!
You really are new at this, aren't you? I'm just teasing ya'. ;)
Well, in order to play Japanese-based games or visual novels on a US-based OS you will have to change a couple things in your control panel's Region and Language settings. So from the Windows/Start Button go to Control Panel (assuming that you are running a Windows-based OS)...you know what, here, these might help:

If you still feel a little lost, feel free to ask here or message me. :)
EDIT: SWEET! Looks like the campaign bonus items for the game I pre-ordered have been updated (colored): http://hadashi.product.co.jp/kareshi/campaign.html.
So happy with my decision:

No, I haven't gotten around to taking full shots of any of the covers from my recent haul just yet. I plan on taking some this weekend though, when I have some more time on my hands.
However, I did take this one the other night because I knew that a few of us were curious what was down there:

Really isn't as graphic as it should be, but that's definitely an acceptable form of censorship.

Eh, from the other Lilith cover I own I wasn't expecting it to be that explicit. For once, my expectations were pleasantly met. ;)

Right, I didn't necessarily expect it to be too explicit, but with the hand placement down there something was definitely going on. It's nice to see that they found a nice middle ground; not as explicit as it should be, given the title, but much better than the mosaic/lazy censoring that most eroge companies tend to gravitate towards.

Haha thanks, this I all know though as I think Shashin cleared up earlier. I was just curious if I'd be able to put in a Japanese disc and would be able to easily install a game like it were a R1/US disc or whatever... getting them to actually run can be the challenge though, but luckily I've figured all that out and have gotten plenty of games to run. Would just be nice to start collecting some now though, heh.

Heh, this bootlegger is really starting to get under my skin. They one account has been spam posting a bootleg site for the last few months now (I only became aware of it after he posted in one of my threads), on Figure.fm and MFC, but possibly other sites as well. I didn't see the point in calling him out on it directly, but I did get a few of his posts deleted on MFC and I mentioned it on Figure.fm
He finally got around to posting on the Dakimakuras subReddit on Reddit, still under the same username he had been using on MFC/Figure.fm. Being a moderator on Reddit, I was able to ban him, which was definitely feel good moment even if the victory was small.
But it appears as if he has the upper hand again; I just came across a post from the user "DakimakuraGuy" on vietxmikey's new dakimakura post. This threw me off a bit because it's the same username I use on Reddit; it could have been coincidence, so I clicked into his profile. Sure enough, of the 4 posts he has, 3 of them were promoting/spamming the same bootleg website.

Bootleggers have to make a living too!11 ;(
Stealing your username is quite lame though, wonder if you report him on figure.fm will the mods delete his account (like they do to the less intelligent random ad spammer ones).

Yeah, I was clenching my teeth after looking at his (other account's) posting history and seeing that it was a poorly veiled spam account, though likely with an actual person behind it and not a bot. Even so, there wasn't really anything I could do about it; as much as it hurts to say, bootleg dakimakura covers just aren't looked down upon in the community the way that something like bootleg figures are.
The username bit, on the other hand, definitely irked me more than the bootleg advertising did. I wonder if the reasoning was more to piss me off (since it was fairly obvious I was the one that banned the other account) or because he hoped people might mistake them for me (even though my audience was fairly small.)
It might be worth it putting in a support ticket, but I didn't have much luck with my last one. D:
