I was wrong, then (and part of the reason why the video is private--I expected to be wrong on at least a few things). HH sometimes has things in a section called "Artist", which I assumed meant were original characters, as opposed to their "Misc" section, which is a variety of characters, too few of which exist to have their own category. Clearly, I misread the information.
Nah, it's very possible you could have read the information on Hobby Heart correctly. However, (and yes, I know I'm repeating myself) they are a bootleg site, so they're just taking sample shots off the internet and printing them out themselves. It's very possible that for some of the prints they find, they're unable to dig up the source material. Like I said, I'd have to go back and watch the video again, but all of your covers are from an IP and not original characters. All but one of them were released officially by the IP holders (be it anime or eroge companies); the Atelier Rorona (I think that's her name) is the only character that was done by a circle, in this case, Kyounetsu.
I meant that they had originally purchased it from HH themselves, then just resold it. I figured it was only one individual trying to sell their own unwanted print. Generally, to me, it looks like retailers don't like making a print and then having it returned. That doesn't make for good business relations.
That makes sense and it might be the case, however, it is worth pointing out that bootleggers will use a lot of the same prints. And every bootlegger I know uses peachskin as their base material. It's definitely possible it was someone reselling a bootleg they had purchase from Hobby Heart (but I don't see why it would be a bootleg of a bootleg, then), but without knowing the seller, I'd say it's just as possible that it's just a competing bootlegger with a similar product to offer. eBay is 99.9% bootleggers.

Interesting video. I think the main thing lacking from my point of view was that you didn't have any official/authentic dakimakura as a point of comparison to the quality of the bootlegs. Ideally one with the exact same image on it, but it's pretty hard to justify getting an identical one if you're pretty happy with the bootleg one already, with them being so expensive. Also there's even more types of materials for authentic covers than there is for bootlegs, so it gets complicated fast ^^. But a direct comparison in at least feel and image clarity between a hoobyheart 2way tricot and an authentic two way tricot would be good.
Your cameraman was pretty amusing too :p

Yeah, I'll agree with willowywicca here. Especially on the materials part... the four basic materials that bootlegs generally offer is a pretty easy thing to wrap your head around, once you tried them all. But once you introduce legit covers into the equation, it gets all the more complicated. >.<
The point about being happy with bootlegs but not knowing where they compare to legit covers is quite true. I think that if you managed to get your hands on a copy of the legit Kyounetsu Rorona cover, that you'd be absolutely blown away by the difference; both in material type and print/image quality. From what I can see with your others, the difference in image quality might not be as pronounced, but I think there would still be a noticeable difference. But as willowywicca said, it's a hard expense to justify when you're happy with the quality of the covers you have now. I do know that a few of the people who post in this thread started with bootlegs, and once they actually tried a legit cover, they (mostly) haven't gone back.

Having own quite a bit of authentic covers myself, I would have prefer if you did a comparison for a authentic cover versus those bootlegs.
And as far as materials goes, there's a lot more from where it came from especially the different variants for 2 way tricots and roica.
As for comiket, looks like I'm only interested in the Kamikaze explorer cover.Hopefully nothing else catches my eye.

I am digging the Nanasemeruchi covers:

The new BootUp covers are pretty nice too:

And I like the Clochette cover, but something about her face looks a bit off...maybe it's her eyes.

So, as I mentioned previously, I had an incident with Yokatta telling me they shipped an item but it was never in the shipment they sent. It turns out now after much discussion and further investigating (with Yokatta being certain they had included it in the shipment according to their database), that Stylus never actually sent the item to them due to an error on Stylus' part, so they will be sending it to Yokatta soon. So yay item not permanently lost, but how the hell did Yokatta end up thinking they had sent it to me too...

Mmm I like the art style, though I'd rather a cover with 2 sides of Suguha as Suguha since she looks cuter than as Leafa ;< I'd probably end up getting it still if it's not too pricey on YJA but I imagine it will be extremely expensive..
Nothing too urgent for me from Comiket, all the stuff I'm certain I'd want to get are company covers that will get web releases. But I suspect a bunch more stuff to pop up as we get closer to the date..

It's been discussed a few times before, but I'm not gonna' harp on you because I'm sure that you, like me, don't want to wade through nearly 300 pages of posts.
Anyhow, if you are looking to wash your dakimakura then I suggest lightly handwashing it inside out in cool water with a mild detergent (no perfumes or dyes). Also, I ill advise any scrubbing with sponges or anything of the sort, just use your hands. And obviously no scratching/scrubbing with fingernails. Once, you're done with that gently squeeze out some of the excess water, and hang dry. ;)

Yeah, I left this post alone because I don't have washing experience myself (I'm a collector and most of my covers don't get much/any use.) It has been talked about in this thread a few times, and everyone has their own style for doing so, so I figured someone would chime in sooner than later. ^^
The most detailed guide I've seen was written by BluRay quite some time back, but I can't speak for it being the best, because I don't have the experience. You can see his post here: https://www.fakku.net/viewtopic.php?p=2606759#2606759

Yeah, that one was pretty detailed. Reminded me of a writing assignment I had in like the 2nd grade where you had to tell an alien how to make a PB&J sandwich. You literally had to describe every minute detail. ;P
Blu says that "any kind of detergent is fine," but Quadra, you're best to play it safe with dye/perfume free detergent. Try All Free & Clear.

SMJ just received both mine and Kobun's order, so your proxy should be getting it soon. Not much else has been happening otherwise. ^^

Thanks for the helpful information. Really glad I got some replies and here I thought I was gonna get the same treatment as in other forums where veterans just ignore newcomers posts.

Your assumption has to be the most stupid I ever seen. When you have enquiries on dakimakuras this thread folks are always there to answer or help. As for pre orders, I can easily say other then Shashin, I'm a extremely heavy dakimakura buyer. So your point?
