Paid off my comiket expenses now.. ended up spending way more than I expected or intended ;( Going into it there wasn't really many covers I was interested in at all and I bid on some at lowish prices I didn't really expect to win.. then I did win, and afterwards a couple of covers popped up that I hadn't been aware of and did want.. Oh well, still spent nothing in comparison to ZZ, only about 85k for 7 covers :p Least the euro's doing pretty well vs other currencies atm compared to the last few months..

I still haven't paid off my Comiket stuff... lots of late invoices around. >_> Really hope to pay some of it off before the end of the month so I can order the two Baseson covers I wanted from C83.

There is definitely a wealth of knowledge to and information on the subject and hobby of collecting/appreciating. If you get a chance, I definitely recommend going back through and reading some of the pages or checking out some of the links in our signatures. Should be getting the 2 BWStore covers I got through SMJ-Taiwan tomorrow too...

How was the Taiwan shipping side of things? I ordered 6 covers and 3 of the Ahri bag, so I'm worried it's going to be a pretty hefty shipping charge. Nice batch of loot, as always. ^^

It's pretty crazy that they're doing another web order so soon after the last one. Not that I'm complaining, but it's very uncharacteristic of them. I do regret not putting in an order with the last one; I really like the March Wedding dress cover, and hope it pops up on YJA for a reasonable price. I'd probably buy the Sakura/pillow combo, but I'm pretty sure I already own that cover in the standard version. If they end up doing another one with new art/a cover I don't have, then I might consider ordering it.

yea i thought the same thing.. two webstores in a span of 2 weeks or so. yea i'm digging it too but my wallet ain't lol i'm assuming they're gonna bust more "bunny style" covers in the future.. @ 17k for both items isn't bad but my money is limited and rather went for two covers. still.. i'm happy lol

How do you hide them when someone comes over your room?

some people don't =P me..? i'm too ashamed lol i wish i had friends that shared this hobby but alas, i don't.. all of my friends are "normies" haha anyway, since i use three pillows at a time it's hard to hide but i wrap my thick comforter over them and it just looks like a big comfy lump. some have asked "what is that?" i say, "oh it's just these large cushions and i use ever so often" but haven't really had anyone too curious to give a shit lol

Pretty much, yeah. If you're not comfortable with having them on display, then it's pretty easy to hide them. I don't know anyone that's nosy enough to look under someone's blanket/comforter if they see a lump under the blankets.

Yeah, just stash your covers. If I told you where I hid mine, then they wouldn't necessarily be so hidden anymore, now would they. ;)

Skimming the Google-translated blog posts, it looks like it's a new brand. I don't know if it will be games, animation, or merchandise... but I guess we'll see soon enough. :o

Yeah, that's about as much as I could derive from it. I'll definitely be keeping my eye on it though, that's for sure. :)

I think Sonico's oppai are too small! I expected them to be a bit bigger considering Sonico has quite large proportions. Still, the cover looks good and the oppai do feel quite comfortable. I actually like that they came separate so you can display the cover with or without the oppai. A few photos below.

So I finally put in a shipping request for my BWStore order through SMJ, and as such I can finally calculate how much I saved, if anything. It's worth noting that I'm just doing this for follow up sake, since SMJ now has service fees in place for their Taiwan deputy service (and my order would have racked up about an $80 commission.)

Here are the numbers:

Order through SMJ: $689.45
Shipping cost from Taiwan: $109.65
Total cost: $799.10

Yen cost had I ordered through BWStore: 84000
Current conversion value: $915.53

So at the very least, I saved a solid $100 ordering through SMJ. It probably wouldn't be worth it now, given the proxy fees would have taken the majority of that, but it was worth it while they were still in the beta testing phase. It's also worth noting that the dollar is doing a lot better right now against the yen than when it was when I ordered; had I ordered directly then, my total would have been about $1040.

That's a good savings at least for that particular order. Sucks that they stopped the beta. Did you calculate the cost vs Yokatta who have no fees?
