Dakimakuras anyone?

If you scroll down the page on the second link, you'll see a sketch with three characters on it. It was a dakimakura cover that was supposed to release over a year ago, when the first season of Boku Wa Tomodachi Ga Sukunai was still airing. It never made it out of the sketch phase, and it looked like it was never going to be completed because the artist moved onto other items. But since season 2 has started, it looked like she's going to complete it. Personally, it happens to be one of my favorite artists. Pretty much everything in this thread at the time was really, really looking forward to it.

The covers with inserts are specifically designed for them; they usually have pockets on the inside of the cover, whereas others don't.

And it's a funny point you make about the sizes; years ago 150cm x 50cm was the standards, while it was the 160 covers that were strange. I've seen an increasing number of 170 covers over the last year or two (mostly by Marks, Anko, and a few other circles) and I wonder when it will become the new standard. Of course, it's nice to be able to vary up the size of specific covers to fit with the character's height proportionally. Not all covers need be 150/160/170, but can be fit to what best suits the character; this has already happened a bit, with a few 180/190 covers.

Hmm that link you gave doesn't work for me Shashin (or fc2 is just being its usual terrible self..), what kind of a teaser pic of the cover was it? Part of the finished art? or an actual cover?

Heh, yeah. FC2 is terrible with linking to direct images. I know I've told people that many times in this thread (almost as much as I harp on about P80 ;P) but I'm still guilty of linking directly to them myself.

It's just a face shot of Yozora/Sena, with a post also saying that she's continuing work on it and apologizes for the delay (or something to that effect.)

Ah, that sucks. The image worked fine for me when I linked it and the blog post works fine too, so it's definitely just a FC2 issue, I think. D: I had some success in the past refreshing a dead FC2 picture, but not all the time. On the plus side, I'm sure we'll see more in the near future.

That Sena/Yozora cover looks awesome. Yozora looks like it'll be a front view, Sena looks like a side/rear. I'm hoping it's a rear for Sena. :P

Just seeing the small Sena and Yozora head I thought they were each their own side. Had no idea it was a top bottom type with another combination on the other side. Can't say I've seen many, if any, of this type, albeit I'm quite new.

I must say, it does look quite fetching seeing the entire view especially with the updating graphics of Sena and Yozora. Not much of a fan of the opposite side, but that can stay hidden. :P

Yeah, it's a cover everyone in the thread was absolutely crazy for back when it was originally supposed to release. I'm too lazy to dig up the page when we first started talking about it, but I know we mentioned it quite a bit. And then it just died; I believe there was one sketch rougher than the one they have posted, but it never made it past that phase.

I hadn't watched the show at the time, and Kobato was already my favorite character, so I liked all aspects of it. :D

Yeah, I definitely missed it first time around. Haganai is a favourite of mine and so far only have a Sena cover. I need to get some more, specifically Rika, although she seems a bit rare. :P

Kobato was pretty much an instant favorite of mine before I even knew what series they were all from; I'm pretty sure BWStore's Kobato was the very first preorder from the series, or at least the first that I recall seeing. I instantly preordered it and eventually watched the series after I had already ordered several covers. It's funny that if you count doubles, I must have 8-10 Sena covers, even though she was my least favorite character. Is be happy with more Yozora and Kobato, possibly with a small helping of Maria.

i'm with sash, i like the sena/kobato side a lot more =D yea sena's been done to death (like my avi lol) but kobato is just so damn cute ^^; so kobun tolds me it'll be a web order thing.. i got my income tax coming already so i'm definitely gonna order =)

@Shashin, @Dfan305: I'm just not a fan of loli's so having them on a cover ruins it for me. That's why the only saving grace for me is the Sena and Yozora side. :)

Anyone know what's the deal with Sengendo's recent covers (such as http://sengendo.a.la9.jp/nana01.html http://sengendo.a.la9.jp/momo01.html ). Googletranslate not being all that clear.. it's a normal 160x50 cover, but with 100x50 inserts/overlays/somethings which you can put on to change the amount of clothing they have on? I really want to see photos of this as I'm having trouble visualising how it can actually work (if it does at all :p)...

It's a traditional cover with two extra pieces that fit over that. They split in the center.
