I only just noticed that moejinja were offering a PayPal payment option, in addition to the normal bank transfer. So I tried asking them if they would be willing to ship internationally and they now replied that they would. So that's a few more proxy costs we can cut.

Yeah, they've had that Paypal link for awhile now, so I was wondering if they were willing to ship internationally. Good to see that they are. How did you contact them? I've been wanting to ask them about a YJA account that almost exclusively sells their covers, at a fairly low price.

Yeah, no joke. However, it is pretty cool that they supply your pass(es), flight, hotel accommodations, and general meet-and-greet translation services. Fortunately, I already have my flight taken care of. I just need to get my hotel booked and get the passes to C85...which I have no idea where/how I'm gonna do the latter. I have to wait until mid June to book the hotel.

Also, looks like this Comic1 event (http://www.comic1.jp/index.htm) is picking up steam, and fast. I really want to try and get the Pink ChuChu cover:

Unless something has changed recently, there is no passes for comiket, it's completely open for anyone to walk in for free. You do typically want to buy the guidebook for it though (which lists the locations of all the circles and which day they're in etc..). If you wait until a day or two before comiket the guide tends to get it's price slashed (and ofc even cheaper once the first day of comiket has begun..). Though it's not that expensive at original retail price either.

I've gotta' force myself to learn some more Japanese and gotta' pump the brakes on my spending a little bit more than I have been. So damn tough when there always seems to be another hot cover being released when I least expect it.

Yep, it's even worse when there are auctions to win. D: It just happens that pretty much all the stuff I still want is very rare and gets super expensive when it finally pops up (were some rare anko covers up in the last few days.) I guess it helps that I never commit fully, and usually lose the bidding wars.

Zengar, assuming it was you I was bidding against the other night, I've love to see shots of the Sora no Otoshimono cover when you get it; the main reason I was bidding on that set was because it's an event version I wasn't aware existed until I noticed the background was different than the cover I have. Would be interested to know of any other changes.

Has anyone stumbled upon a review of any of the just released Cran Crown Black covers, or perhaps have ordered them themselves? I'm conflicted as to whether I really want them, or should get other things like Evening Call's new Miku.. ..or other things that may get announced in the near future.

I haven't kept up with CranCrown's offerings in awhile, but they're always a solid buy in my opinion. As for EC's Miku, I'm personally waiting. The preorder window is limited (and I won't have the funds within the next week), but it's an event "exclusive" and for the last 3-4 events, Evening Call has been in the habit of having a short preorder window (going on now) followed by a more traditional booking period a month or two down the line. While it's never a guarantee, I'm pretty confident that I'll be able to preorder the Sakura Miku and the Tenshi in the near future.

Haven't got either of the two that were released on the 26th, nor can I find any photos of them yet. I did get some of their previous releases though ( most recently: http://blog.埋もれる抱き枕er.jp/archives/8826 ) and if you want pictures of that to guess what the level of censoring on the new covers may be like feel free to ask..

I actually picked up several CranCrown covers in the past; wasn't really any censorship, but there wasn't any detail either. Just curious as to whether these two new covers were any different.

Yeah, the CranCrown covers in the past really avoided being too out there; the early covers mostly avoided the need for any censorship. I bought one a few months back that had some clear views, and it was about what you'd expect from a company cover. There was a pretty decent indentation on the front/backside, with some fluid around since it wasn't that visible. Better than most companies do, I'd say. I'll see if I took any pictures of it.
