Yo Vietxmikey, good to hear from ya! All's well for me, hope things are good for you too!
Hmm, Kobun, what's so bad about the background that you had to mosaic it out in those photos? :D Or do you actually have a table with that kind of square pattern lol.

It is nice to still see this place alive! The covers still look sexy as hell! I'm just dropping in to say hi. I hope you guys are doing well! Hey Mikey! How you been, buddy? Get any new covers?
Spoiler:
I'm doing pretty good! No new covers in a long time! I pretty much fell off the face of the Earth with this hobby (broke). Although I do have a few more covers that I haven't put on yet.
By the way, I really love your recent batch. I'm interested in what that Sonico cover looks like.

Yeah, been a long time man, how have you been? Need to see some of the old regulars in here more often. I'm doing good. School, work, and gym has been kicking my ass. It seems to me that the regulars are still here. :P

Kobun, it looks like they're taking orders for some extra stock they had of that Hisasi cover you missed out on first time: http://ktcom.jp/books/go030/

Just got my CranCrown covers yesterday; I'll get some pictures up if I have some time next weekend if anyone wants. I was surprised to find out that this time around there was detail on both covers, so they're definitely doing something a little different from the norm as a company.

That sounds promising, but it doesn't surprise me all that much; when CranCrown first came around they were already pretty much the highest quality company covers on the market (well, if you only count the easily accessible covers.) They've only continued to improve since their inception, always pushing the boundary little by little.
Edit: I'm definitely going to pick up a set of the new C.R.'s Nest covers; wish they were a bit more explicit, but I love the way they pair up and Malga is one of my favorite Horizon characters.

I am trying to narrow my focus on covers and be a little more reserved with my spending, so I can save more money for Japan. :D

I think I've filled my Sena quota for a lifetime, except for the Kyounetsu cover, should it ever come out. I really do like the Yozora, though. Also, a bit of shameless self promotion: http://www.reddit.com/r/Dakimakuras/comments/1bs7en/dakimakura_cover_sale/
Is the list up to date with what is sold out?
I was thinking about starting to get some Dakimakura.
At most I've been looking at Mandarake for some of the cheaper ones that sometimes go on sale probably because of overstock. Don't know where else to really look.

Yeah, the list is up to date.
Mandarake is a great place to start, but depending on which cover you want, it can be either really cheap or absurdly expensive. Mandarake has like 10 different stores throughout Japan, and they all price independently, so some stores might list something really low while others are listing it higher.
AmiAmi/Hobby Search is a pretty good place to start, too. All of the covers there are company covers, but they still have some decent things from time to time. And the Cospa/Chara-Ani line up, if you find one you like, is typically cheaper than other covers (and you can find a lot of Cospa covers on Mandarake for about 6k.)

I have bought two dakimakuras and they seem develop the same problems. Throughout the covers overtime develop small bumps, tears, and holes. They're not noticeable from a distance. Does anybody know what seems to be the problem causing these damages?

The bumps are the most common with 2WT, but the tears and holes seem a bit strange. D:

D: I guess using the words "tears" and "holes" was a bit more than it is. After some closer examination, it appears that strands of the fiber becomes loose and create like a little hole. The damages look as though needles have been struck through them and other parts as if rodents have made scratches the surface. That is quite displeasing to know that they wear down overtime. Sadly, my dakimakuras immediately gets damaged in a matter of a week.

I have one dakimakura and am considering getting another, but I am at a loss. The one I have is the Peach Skin, which seems to be the default material, but I am interested in trying the 2-Way Tricot. I'd appreciate opinions on which you users like more, the 2-Way or the Peach Skin? Because if I'm going to drop another $20+ on 2-Way instead of Peach, I would care to know if it's actually worth it. Thanks.

Thanks.I personally can't stand peach skin, as it's a shitty material that only bootleggers use. Unless a cover is only available in a specific material, I buy almost exclusively 2WT/2WR.
Also, if you're willing to pay more for a cover (as you're considering the upgrade to 2WT), I'd highly recommend looking around and see if there are any legit covers currently available that catch your eye. Much like the difference between peach skin and 2WT, there is often a fairly pronounced difference in quality between legit covers and bootlegs.

Hello gran sibalac. ( ^_^)/
I think I know what you are referring to. A few of my covers have developed this over extended periods of time. Kind of an unspoken truth and sad part about covers, but this can happen if the cover happens to catch dry or rough skin around the nail fold or cuticle of your fingers or toes. I recommend keeping your nails well manicured, or wear socks in bed. I also recommend buying a cheap nail file from a convenience store and sand down any areas when your skin may feel rough around these areas. Hope this helps.

@Kobun_SLF: Yes I am aware of the whole nails can tear into the covers, a friend of mine warned me about that too beforehand. My nails are incredibly short and wears are located throughout the whole dakimakura where my hands possible wouldn't even reach. Thank you though!
I believe the material is 2-Way Tricot. I don't think it's because of me handling, since both dakimakura are the same material and the unused one is still wearing out apparently.

I've never seen any legit cover's quality degrade when it is unused. If I had to guess, I would assume it is some very cheap bootleg material which just doesn't hold up very well at all (someone ages ago in this thread mentioned that one of his bootleg ones was having pills/bobbles form on it even when not in use). Most of the regular posters in this thread have very little knowledge of bootlegs though as we only buy legit covers. If yours is a legit cover, then you might want to see about contacting the company you bought it from for a replacement/refund (if you didn't go through a proxy to get it).

Yeah, as willowywicca said, I'm kind of at a loss for what could be the problem. 2WT is a fickle material and is prone to damage more than other covers, but only with use. There are a lot of different varieties of 2WT out there, and some are more durable than others. Unless there is some unknown environmental cause as to why your covers are falling apart, my best guess is that it's because the material is of low quality.
Where did you buy from/what company manufacturers it?

@willowywicca The pills you've mention are exactly what my dakimakuras have.
I bought them off mandarake. They're dakimakuras from lose's monobeno eroge game.
I assume their legit based on how the material feels compare to my bootleg one which feels like a table cloth.

Yeah, you don't really have to worry about bootlegs from Mandarake. How much were the ones you purchased? I ask that because they have some dakimakura covers that retailed between 9-13k, but then they also have some that came as preorder bonuses for the game; those are typically not as high quality and that would definitely explain the deterioration.
The standalone covers, though, were A&J 2WT which is fairly prone to damage.

A cover alone will simply not develop these wear and tear markings, or deteriorate without interaction...so I am assuming that you are using them on a pillow, correct?
These fallacies don't have to come from your hands/fingers. I have a couple Lose covers, and they are quite nice, but I cannot attest to their particular durability as I've never put one of them on a pillow. But if it's just pills, then that's just friction against the the material. The same thing happens with clothing: take sweaters and hoodies for example.
