Yeah, it will be my first, and Kobun's too, I think. Not that I know of, anyway. As for myself, I think I'd greatly prefer the winter experience to the summer one; I'm partial to the cold, and where I live we don't get any real winters, so I'm excited to see what the weather is like in December. And in summer, we have tremendously brutal summers, but very low humidity... it sucks, but I don't know if I could handle the slightly lower temperature with ridiculous humidity.

Living in the Sahara? :p

Will be my first too, but winter is not an option for me. I prefer to stay with my family over christmas/new year. We have about the same humidity here in Germany in high summer, so I'm a bit accustomed to the heat.

Yup, this will be my first time visiting Japan, and my first Comiket too. I'm beyond excited!

Christ, Shashin, I'd knock myself the fuck out with a frying pan to bypass that heat. Although, I'm sure that your house probably has AC. My place doesn't have AC and it gets ridiculously hot in my room. It was like 42C/108F outside the other day, making my room my own personal hell. I wound up going to Starbucks and sitting in there on my laptop until they closed at like 10PM. Essentially the guy who owns the house is a total fucking tight wad, who sits on his ass in front of a fan and watches TV all goddamn week. Nope, not bitter at all.

Can't really relate to the weather problems myself, here in California the weather doesn't change much and seasons aren't all that different. The only real difference is some seasons have some rain, but winter doesn't get all that cold and summer usually stays well within the bearable range.

Either you're waaaaaaaaaay up north, or on the coast. Inland, it gets hot as hell!

Yeah, Kobun, without air conditioning, there's no fucking way I'd live in Las Vegas. Hell, even in California, I feel sorry for any sucker who has to live without it. I have mine cranked down to 75-78 during the day, which is on the cusp of uncomfortable; if I want to sleep with a cover, I have to crank it down to 70 or lower.

Ooh that Suguha cover is nice Kobun, though I hope the background looks better than what's shown there (or well I guess it's probably just pure white). May have to see about getting it...


I don't think the comiket book comes out this soon does it? Isn't it only like ~4 weeks or so before comiket normally (so mid-july)? Or maybe I'm totally mistaken.

I was actually in Las Vegas in January for a conference... and it was bloody cold lol. Stayed at the Flamingo hotel where the conference was at :3

Heh, we had some nice weather in January from what I remember. I happen to like the cold, so I don't remember anything that was more than light jacket weather. Shame I didn't know you were coming here, though. D: Would have been willing to show you around a bit.

Yeah I had no idea you live there. Though, it was really a business trip with very little spare time, so it mightn't have made a difference if I had known lol.

We had around 36°C in the shadow and around 70-80% air humidity today ^^ I think it will be the same in Japan, so no problem as long as I have enough water with me and something to wipe the sweat.
C84 will be a total adventure for me, but absolutely worth it. The only problem would be the airport customs, checking my luggage with several hardcore mags and doujins :D

Mmm, I've never had any problems with customs wanting to open up my luggage (but then they are pretty lax here in Ireland). I guess if it really worried you could ship them via the post office (ems/sal) from japan to your home on the last day you're in japan. Though obviously that's a lot of extra charges. I guess it depends on whether what you have is merely something embarassing (general porn?) or something dubiously legal (extremely loli stuff? - depends on your local laws). If it's just embarassment, I'd risk it since it's pretty likely customs wont take an indepth look into your baggage's contents.

I'd advise taking like 1/2 a week's worth of clothes or so, if you're planning to buy big, so that you can keep your suitcase largely empty on your outward trip to fit lots of loot on the way back. Most hotels will have a laundry service, and if not there's some public laundromats available (that your hotel should be able to guide you to).

That was pretty much my line of thought. I'm sure I'm going to end up buying more than I can feasibly haul back anyway, so I figured shipping the stuff I wasn't too sure on would be the route to take.

Just received [what I consider to be] a fairly big batch of goodies today. They just kept showing up at the SMJ office one after the next, so I figured I'd just save a bit on the shipping and wait it out this time.


I am super bummed out that the MARCY LoliBitch cover is so heavily censored. :(

I figured it would be censored to some extent, but goddamn what a let down that was. I placed an order for two, and thought that I had paid for two, but it looks like SMJ didn't catch that and only ordered one. Sorta' happy that I didn't get two now.

The Black Holy Heaven Badger chick from that Shinra-Game isn't explicit at all, but definitely has a nice plump downstairs, and the color is fucking amazing! :D

Haven't opened the others just yet, but probably will when I get back home.

Haha, I told him the exact opposite. I told him pretty much that "I'd order it, but I'm fairly certain it's going to be censored in some way that sucks."

Since it isn't P80, I figured as much, but I had hoped for some creative censoring. Clearly it is anything but. :(
Still pleased with the overall coloring, pose, art, etc., but that shit mosaic kills me deep down.
