The invoice I received was close to $370 (including shipping and PayPal fees). That seems a bit steep.

I'm pretty sure I had posted the response they gave me in this thread. Essentially, $150 is the flat fee for foreigners now.

Well that's crappy. With the two covers I just ordered and the hook up on a full price cover for 6K, I guess it just about negates their foreigner fee.

Anyhow, I'm not sure on the Ordin-soft covers; I remember some of their older ones still being available for order but don't explicitly remember any of them ever being sold out, at least going by the form. Either way, it's cool that they're in stock now.

Pretty quiet here, so I'll share some pics of my latest Hisasi cover which I am in love with (so much so that I'm not even taking it off my pillow for these pics :p).

First few covers for comiket starting to trickle in now. Kinda disappointed by the clock-up "eroge" one (2nd of the Hobibox ones). That girl was great in the hentai but I'm not liking the cover all that much ;(

I was just thinking the same thing the other day. The Hisasi cover does look pretty great, and I'm really happy I managed to come up with the money in time to complete the order (it likely would have resulted in the closure of my HS account if I hadn't.) So I can't wait to get it.

The Clockup cover being the Euphoria girl? I kinda wanted to buy it during the first release, but skipped over it in the end. I might still consider it, but it isn't a high priority. Without spoiling the (year old) anime for anyone, I really liked the premise of the first episode, but the second episode was terrible. Kinda made me want to go play to eroge to see what I was missing.

Nah the other one with thighhighs with a diamond pattern on the side. She's from a game+hentai called "Eroge! H mo Game mo Kaihatsu Zanmai".

Ah, I've probably watched it, but I don't remember it off the top of my head. I remember there being 2-3 different shows with "eroge" in the title, or revolving around the industry in some way. Being the pervert that I am, my favorite of the bunch was Yume Kui.

Lol for some reason that Hisasi cover is going for ludicrous prices on YJA currently http://page5.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/e140880625 very odd for a web-order item which was stocked by most major stores.

It actually happens more often than you think. Some people just like to list at high prices in the off chance that someone is unfamiliar with common sources, and I've actually seen a few cases where a cover sold for 20k+ when it was still readily available somewhere else. It's definitely a pretty weird occurrence.

For those that may have missed it via the B&W Store sale, the Haganai cover is up on Kyounetsu for a week. If I had the bidding limit, I'd probably try to purchase another copy, since I didn't have the money when the B&W Store window was open.

I don't think I don't think I've ever seen it before. Did you just buy that cover on Mandrake? Either way, I agree, it definitely does look like Anko's work.

Nah, I wish. I checked Mandarake and it was already sold out the first time I saw it pop up. It just struck me as anko's work, and it doesn't appear to be tagged as such. It just makes me wonder what the deal is, especially since we had that weird occurrence with the Girls und Panzer cover; maybe anko is trying to work under a new name for a bit, or something.

I'm interested in buying my first ever Dakimakura but I have a few questions first.

What are some stores that have fairly good quality ones, since it's my first I'm not too fussed about the quality, as long as its reasonably high.

Also, what is an average price for inside + cover? I see some stores online that have covers for like $40-$50 but others have them for $100+. What is the reasoning behind this? Are the cheaper ones just really low quality?

Lastly, does anyone know a store where I can get this one and this one?

Kinda. The cheaper ones are bootlegs, which are stolen works and typically of lower quality.

Unfortunately, the prices can vary wildly for legit covers, but the average price for a brand new cover (without the pillow) is 10-12k yen. The prices are almost never in USD, and if they are, there's a good chance it's a bootleg.

Depending on your area, you can get a reasonably decent pillow for about $20+shipping, but that depends largely on your area.
