Ok, I just need a little help.So I had on my eye on this item here on amiami
Spoiler:
Buuut I checked today and it sold out and I was like
Spoiler:
When I first saw it, I decided to wait and save some money think It would'nt sell out. It had a late Feb release date, looks like it was changed to April. I was thinking I got time, I'll save some money. Well it is obvious it is my fault, Don't add salt to my wounds.
I looked at other places and it looks like amiami has it cheaper compared to other places, maybe not sure.
So my question is that what are the chances of it restocking? I'm thinking probably close to zero.
So another question is, is it possible I can this at a convention? Is it like a complete random chance?
Chances of a restock are fairly low, or rather they won't get a restock but it's possible that a) someone cancels their order freeing up stock, or that b) the cover gets a re-release somewhere down the line (not very likely typically..).
At conventions I've no idea from personal experience (not many conventions here in ireland) but I've heard you're more likely to find bootleg covers than legit ones like this at them...
The most likely way of getting it is to try and get it second hand (typically it will not have been opened, so is as good as new) from a site like Mandarake ( http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/shop/en/ ). Search for "抱ãæž•" (dakimakura) there to see all the latest additions and hope that this nepgear turns up one day. It can be a bit random what name they list an item under, so searching more specifically for her by name or series name may make you filter out the actual cover at times (or it might be fine.. up to you..). If you do want to try searching by name to filter the results more then: Hyperdimensional Neptunia = 超次元ゲイムãƒãƒ—テューヌ , Nepgear/Purple Sister = ãƒãƒ—ギア / パープルシスター
Mandarake also has a japanese site ( http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/shop/ja/ ) which sometimes has items not listed on the english one. You can contact them to ask them to add an item from the japanese site to the english site, if you spot the cover you want there and not on the english one. You cannot order directly off the japanese site (unless you live in japan).
And not to rub salt in your wounds, but because it's probably useful info for the future for you... on a site like Amiami, you only get charged money when the item is released. So there's no reason to delay making a pre-order to save money, since whether you order it in november or january, you still pay in April (for this item which is released in April).
And yeah, in general dakimakura covers always sell out during their pre-order window, as the amount made is typically dependant on how many pre-orders are received and after a certain time they stop accepting pre-orders to have time to make the actual covers before the release date.

I searched and I dont think I found it. Maybe... I never used that site before. But I'll keep an eye out.
The reason I didn't but right away is because of how I am I guess. When it came out for pre-order, I was tight on money. MAybe its just me but I dont really order things unless I for SURE got the money. I know it does not make sense, but I dont know how to explain it. And I was lazy. Thinking I got a few months, its alright. I honestly though this would not sell out. Didn't know Dakimuras were like that popular. Oh well. Thanks for the info.
Ill be more careful in the future

That's a second-hand site, so it'll only turn up after the cover is released, if at all.. so start checking periodically from April onwards...

Covers very rarely sell out while in the pre-order period, and it they do it's often temporary. It could be because I'm using the mobile site, but I was able to add the cover to my cart on Amiami. And for future reference, you always want to post a link to the item if possible, versus just an image. It saves others some hassle of looking it up themselves, especially if they're not familiar with the character. Hopefully you'll be able to order her from my Amiami. And yeah, covers at conventions, outside of Japan and Taiwan anyway, are likely going to carry nothing but bootleg covers.
Moving on, I stumbled across something cool today. Toranoana has a 3rd store in Akihabara, on the 3rd floor of what I think was a small Sofmap. This store was primarily focused on used doujinshi, and they had some good prices, including a lot of 100 yen bins. More importantly, it's also where their goods seem to be. They had maybe 10 or so different t dakimakura covers that I've seen on their site, and some tapestries and other goodies. They also had some second hand goods, being sold at market price. I saw the Shimakaze cover I had wanted for 25k as a set, which isn't bad since Mandarake has the set for 30k.

Haha, that works... And I wouldn't have been able to help you, since I'm not sure if I could find it again if I tried. I still have to wander around a bit when I want to find D-Stage sometimes. My sense of direction when it comes to Japanese streets leaves much to be desired. Also, I'm in a bit of a weird position now. I went to Ueno Park this morning and the walked to Akihabara. My feet were achy around 4, so I came back to my hotel for a rest. And now I'm not really sure what to do with my time. I thought about going back to Akihabara for a while when it was earlier, but there are only so many times you can check the gamble posters at D-Stage. Not so much that I mind some quiet time, but it does feel like a waste sitting at my hotel room. Will need to find something to do tomorrow, before heading to Ore no Yome on Saturday. Maybe I'll go to Ore no Yome and then book a room in Kyoto or something for the night to do some exploring and then just go to comic Treasure versus the kancolle event. It's a tough call, and will likely depend on how much of my remaining money I spend at ore no yome, I guess.
Was going to wait until I got home to open it, but couldn't resist taking a look at the anko cover. It's not my favorite anko work, especially since I typically don't like short hair, but I do like it. And it's nice to see an explicit cover again after the last few have been comparatively tame.

It seems to be directly across the main street from the tora no ana A+B branches... which makes me feel stupider for not noticing it lol. Although I think I may have spotted it in a previous trip and forgotten about it this time round (without realising it was a part of toranoana back then).
As for what to do, you could explore the nightlife in Roppongi, Shibuya or Shinjuku/Kabuki-Cho for a change of pace. Or go see a movie and practice your japanese comprehension!1

Wel, the one restau rant I really wanted to go to was quickly put on the back burner after I spent so much in the first few days. They do offer an a la cart menu after 9,so that might give be me an excuse to check out Roppongi. Still, I have about 60k cash left, and as a fellow hobbyist, you know of how quickly that is likely to go tomorrow.
Today I wen to Nikko and it's definitely a trip I'd recommend for those who want to do something outside of the hobby while they're there. As a bonus, it gave me a great chance to check out the Utsunomiya Mandarake store. And I do have to say I'm quite impressed. It's only one floor sadly, but a fairly big one. It also shares a building with Animate, Melonbooks, Lashinbang(I think? It's a branch of a good store in Nakano Broadway), Volks, and maybe one other store. They only had two full display cases dedicated to covers but it was done very efficiently; they're laid just slight over each other at an angle, so they can fit a ton in there and you can make out every cover. The store also has really wide aisles. It made browsing everything nice and I never had to do the awkward shimmy past someone else. I mentioned the quantity but the selection of covers was pretty nice, too. Overall, I'd say it's worth the trip if you have a JR Pass, but it paying the fare to go to Utsunomiya for just Mandarake probably isn't worth it.

Seeing you talk about how Ore no Yome was on twitter makes me want to know all the details! Especially with pics if possible!

Hi guys,
Looks like everybody still is just as crazy as last time.
Life has been hectic as of late.
Anyway, anyone bought Anko's latest and previous work? If I recall the previous was Momo and the current one for Ore no Yome event is Mikan.
The last one I bought was Kongou. Which turn out to be censored just like Charlotte was. Was wondering there's been any changes since then.
I grabbed the Hotaru cover from Marks this event and still looking around.

Will do a more detailed write up when I get home, but Ore no Yome was definitely a fun event. Went with all the money I had and truly wish I had more. Bought 2/5 of the new Marks covers and the Argyle Shimakaze. Then I found the booth around the corner that had the really cute Mikan and Golden Darkness, but it was only being sold as a set for 20k and I no longer had enough money to buy it. Anko didn't have anything new, but was selling pre-orders for the Mikan cover, which looks quite nice. It's likely that her future works will follow the trend of being tamer since it looks like Japan has been cracking down explicit works.
Kancolle event was a bit of a bust for me. Should have gone for the karory Haruna in hindsight, but I wanted to see if ichigo size had any Shimakaze covers. They ended not having any covers at all, and I just ended up buying a few tapestries at the event to buy something.
Only have 5000 yen to last me, and that's including transportation to the airport, so this should be fun. :p

Just wondering whether you guys ever have trouble looking for a cover in your collection considering how long we have been collecting.
Today, I just bought a old Illustration Guerrilla cover of Nodoka from mandarake. I was pretty amazed as I was looking to buy a 2nd copy which wasn't Sk as I have only 1 copy.Still looking for the twins cover, I hope I can find another one day.
So I thought to take out my old cover to use but I rummaged through half of my collection for almost 1hour to find it.
It's also pretty sad that during my search I saw a lot of covers I have no recollection of buying.
It's hell to own more then 700 dakis now.>_>

Well, I'm not up to 700 yet, so not having quite the same degree of difficulty. I guess I'm over 200now though but still not finding it too hard. Most of them are stored with other covers I bought in the same time period, so if I remember vaguely when it was I got the cover I can usually find it pretty quick since I know the general region it's likely to be stored in.

ZZ, good to hear from you, man. And good to know that you're still collecting.
I think I may have hit the 100 mark...if not I'm definitely super close to it. I now have two of these: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90193377/ filled with covers!
And I just got two more in the mail today:

^^ Haven't opened the cover yet. ^^
