Dakimakuras anyone?

Saw you (I assume it was you based on your previous remark about being at 17.5k) bidding 30k to win one Marks Sena, seemed quite harsh indeed. :< I managed to average 13k for each of 4 dakimakura I got (well one was from the winter in akiba event rather than C81), but then I tend not to like the big name circles ones as much as others so my ones are more low key acquirements.

Yeah, I saw a SMJ account close on that Marks Sena for 30k; I was bidding on something from the same seller, but was ultimately outbid. Haven't been serious enough to win shit yet, but I did bid on a few of the Miku covers that sold past the 30k mark. Unfortunately there's only 3 left on YJA, so the chances of me getting it for less than that aren't good anymore. >_>

Basically tried the gamble that I'd bid relatively low on the first few auctions (when there was about 11 listed), and let the really crazy people pay the 30k+ price, and then I'd pick one up later. Instead, a few in the first batch sold in the 26000-30000 range, and I was stuck with people paying 31000+. The without glasses version is selling for 50000+. -_-


And just as a heads up for anyone who was considering the Evening Call covers, before you go spending a ton of money on their C81 covers, it looks like they will be opening web reception at some point in the future. Google Translate can be faulty, but that's the feeling I'm getting from their most recent post on their main page.

Yah, sometimes I wish that was a buy now price for the Miku without glasses(I really want that besides Marks Sena). I did regret now buying now the 2 Senas I wanted cos ultimately I paid up more then I should have.

Yeah, the Miku without glasses is the cover I want most from C81, but there's no way I'm paying 50000 yen for it. >_>

Im also getting 5 more pillows, and 4 new cases as well. =^.^= Im getting one of Yami (To Love-Ru), Suika (Touhou), Stocking (Panty & Stocking), and my waifu <3 Aria <3 (Hidan no Aria). Once i get those (Should be around the 19th or so) i'll post pictures of them as well.

I have that Azunyan one; cost me like 25000 yen, but it was well worth it. I was just drawn to the art. I later found out that it was the same artist that did another 3 covers I owned, one of them which is among my top 10 favorites. So I guess there was a reason I was drawn to the cover. ^^

Looks like Mishio from the Sofmap Clochette BOX turned out very nice http://nagarenagasare.blog112.fc2.com/blog-entry-1226.html#cm it is 2way tricot (though not AJ) and the print quality is good. Though according to the translation "You smell when you open an organic solvent such as a box of something figure. " so apparently it has a strong odor.

My C81 activity picked up a bit, but still isn't where I'd like it to be.

Bought the Tony dakimakura, the Marks Sena blanket, and some doujinshi (Ishikei's, Udonya's, and Bolze's stuff.) Still some other stuff I have my eye on, but I'm probably done unless the Anko Miku pops up with a reasonable buyout; my limit is really tied up at the moment due to 4-5 web orders hitting in the next few months. And I still need to order my Evening Call Sena.

While talking about that Miku, the last few sold outrageously:
The without glasses version closed at over 60000 yen and the two with glasses covers sold at over 50000 yen. Really regret not picking one up in the 26000 range now, but I'm expecting them to have more at My Wife in a few weeks, hopefully.

Actually, would rather have a web order chance just like Charlotte and Laura daki. And you got the Mark's Blanket. I've been eyeing that but looks like I got no chance. BTW, the Tony daki is 2WT or something?

Yeah, a web order would certainly be ideal. >_> But from my experience, they don't do them too often for event exclusives. And look how long it too for the IS cover to come about. A web order would allow me to buy two (or three, or four...) for the price of one, but my hopes aren't high.

Honestly, it was a spur of the moment decision. I'm slightly more interested in the blanket that has Charlotte and the other two chicks on it, but there was an auction with 10 minutes left on it, and it was only at 14500. So I said, "what the hell", tossed in a bit of 15300, and I won it. I had decided when I bid that I wouldn't go any higher than that; I put in the bid and immediately tabbed back into my game.

The Tony cover is Smooth Knit; not ideal, but passable.

Hey gaiz! So I've been gone for several days on account of me being forgetful. I didn't write down my new PW, forgot it, and had to have it reset. Luckily, Jacob was kind enough to set me up with a new one. Anyhow, I hope everyone had a great weekend and a Happy New Year to you all!

That is mainly why I hate taking them, because I know that I am just going to have to spend twice as long playing Mr. Perfectionist getting them to look just right. Screw that. Also, I FINALLY found that C81-exclusive Touhou cover I nearly lost my shit to a couple weeks back. So far I've only seen two pop up and they have both been from the same YJA seller. I got into a bit of a bidding war with some other guy, and rather than have that carry on into the wee hours of the morning (it was already 3AM at the time) I had to talk some sense into myself, and refrain from placing a bid for 26K yen. Especially seeing as how I am bidding on another of the same cover from the same seller. I mean, come on...for the price it could have potentially ended at had, I could have bought three covers from a store front. If I win his other auction for this cover I'm still going to keep my eyes peeled for another as I would LOVE to own a second one of these...just not for 26K. ;)

And as far as I know, I don't think there is for SadPanda... that's usually why I end up raring some 200 pictures and posting a megaupload link instead of posting them directly in the thread.

Believe me when I say it is not of bootleg quality, I opened it up once to put it on display and it looked like any other daki I owned at the time. Here's a picture I took of it back during Fakku tea time.

Please don't take our conversation the wrong way, I'm really not trying to cause a problem, even if I continue to insist on this. :P

I own at least one bootleg myself, and two covers from this circle; the material quality of the bootleg is infinitely better than the quality of the material the circle uses. It's possible they've used a different material at one time, but I'm pretty sure it's the only material they use.

Chill Bro, Sashin isn't saying yours is a boot leg .This doujin daki is definitely authentic is just that according to Shashin the material they use doesn't feel as good as a bootleg daki(Most of which are made with Peachskin polyester)

A good example would be several companies sell their Dakis made of Polyester suede which feels godawful and feels inferior to peachskin.
And unless you own, a different assortment of dakimakuras made with different materials, it is going to be hard to made a comparison.
