Dakimakuras anyone?

It looks like that is from the cheaper material? Sort of like the ones from the dengeki magazines and such.

At least in my case, those ones get "caught" more easily due to many things. It can be due to finger and toe nails, a rougher blanket/comforter, dry skin (especially from your feet which tend to have drier parts), hair if you have more prickly thicker hair on your legs, and so forth. Since you move on average of something like 40-50 times each nite (or so I read), it could be the case of you being unaware of it happening.

The major reason why I try to buy 2 copies of dakimakuras I own.
It happens very commonly especially freebies from magazines and 2WT(still one of the easiest to damage)
I would say skin would not be that likely, but hair might.
Unless the end of the pillow is near your feet.~_~
Anyway, try to keep your nails clipped and filed/rounded. Finger and toe nails are dangerous enemies of a dakimakura.
Even Stronger materials like Roicot are not very resilient against scratches or snags.

Damn, I'm never gonna buy dengeki dakimakuras anymore. BTW what are they made of? The Dengeki Dakis? Damn my Erio is spoiled, should have stayed in the box.

Smooth knit, but poorer quality smooth knit then those from commercial companies.
The older dengeki material was a lousy version of suede.

But to be honest, your pillow can also cause damage to dakis, personal long time experience. Because over time the filling can ooze out of the pillow and rubbing against it can be bad, especially if you're using a generic pillow that has poor quality fillings, they tend to be abrasive.

After I switch to A and Js, I no longer have such problems. But I still carry the trend of buying 2 copies of every dakimakura I own(if possible)

Now, I would love to show off Mishio but I got too excited opening my stuff, I piled the dakis on my pillow, and she slipped and fell to the corner of my bed,epic fail, She became a bit dusty , so I spent half an hr handwashing her, now she's drying.

Anyone from here bidding on a Anko Miku right now, btw? See the SMJ account holds the lead on one. I just picked one up on buyout myself not too long ago. ^^

Am fairly pissed at myself, though. A couple of days ago there was one for a 24000 buyout, but my bidding limit was too low at the time. I was typing off an email to Yokatta, and before I could even get it out, it had sold. Then there was another one at 30000 buyout for about half an hour. I was pointlessly debating it because it didn't have a picture, and then right as I was pasting the address bar into SMJ, it sold... despite being up for about half an hour before I decided to buy it. -_-

BTW, the 2WT that mishio is made of may not be A and J, but you will be pleased to know it's of higher quality then A and Js.Reason being the % blend of A and Js is 85% polyester 15% spandex while Mishio is made of 83% polyester and 17% spandex, that small increase of spandex in the blend makes it more subtle in smoothness and and a bit thicker then A and Js.

Hmm, interesting on the material. I always hear everyone talk about how good A&J is, but I'm not positive I have any that use them myself. I do, however, have a ton of covers with the 83/17 mix, and it's definitely good.

Any chance you could take a shot of the Sakura/Tomoyo card and PM a link or something? I'm pretty sure that's the image used on their blanket; I was considering buying it but without seeing a sample image I was a bit wary (though I think my window to buy has passed anyhow.)

Looking at the product shot, I'm pretty sure it's the cushion and not the dakimakura cover, but I can't be absolutely sure on that. Since they say the item may vary a bit from the sample shot, and the face shot on the IG sample page is really similar. You can compare the two below. I think it's the cushion because of the hair in the Mandarake shot; on the cushion the ribbon is separated by the hair a bit before appearing again, whereas you can only see the ribbon on one side of the hair on the cover. Looking closer, the mouth matches that of the cushion.

The material isn't listed, but it looks like a roika/tricot over SK to me, and even if it were SK it would still be a great price (especially if it's the cushion.)

I'm almost certain it is now. Funny, I've had a chance to buy it at a good price before too, and I should have jumped on it considering IG was one of my favorite circles, the cushions seems to be ridiculously expensive now, and the dakimakura of her (Himeka) is one of my favorites... but for some reason I just can't convince myself to buy her cushion.

Of course, I might have snapped on it had I not picked up 4 other covers from Mandarake this morning... >_>

Hmm, I figure depending on where you go, you could get make 10-100k for a kidney (no idea...) and depending on your dakimakura tastes, that's $100-500 a piece... so anywhere from 20 to 1000? >_>

By all means, do it. I'd rather someone in the thread get it than someone else, and had I really wanted it myself, I would have been selfish and not linked it at all. :P

And yeah, I had thought I had been told February on the Marks stuff, but I double checked and it is supposed to ship sometime in January. But you know how this stuff is, so I wouldn't be surprised if it gets pushed back a bit. Granted I haven't ordered from Marks before, so I don't know how good they are at keeping a tight schedule.
